Southern Ridge Golf Club

Fairway spotty , rough was mostly dirt , greens were inconsistant front and back nine, tee boxes were rough. This is a flat layout lends good to walking . Good pace of play 4-41/2 hrs . This is still a good value and not a bad track to work out the winter kinks for snow birds.

This course was overall decent. Did not pay much at all for what I got. Course was in decent shape through the tee boxes and fairways and the greens were in awesome condition. Staff was friendly and courteous. Play was extremely slow due to back ups and inexperienced golfers but that is not always a result of course management. I would recommend this course to entry levels of play or to players looking to have a great day of golf; Southern Ridge doesn't hold the extravagance of a resort but you're also not paying for that.

The course got very backed up once we got to the 10th. Two sets were often waiting on the tee box. The course could use some maintenance, mud holes.

This is a fun little course. It is flat, without trees interfering with a shot. There are a few traps and the sand in them is fluffy so it is easy to splash a shot out. The course has new owners and they have done a lot of work (with a lot more to do) to put it in good condition. The greens are in excellent condition, the fairlways are okay, but need some smoothing and a heavier coat of grass. The rough is rough, mostly because there are large areas of dirt that need to be converted to grass. Overall, if you're looking for a relaxing round of golf and not wanting to pay the high prices many Phoenix courses charge during the winter visitor months, this is a good course to visit.

Still some drainage problems and bare spots on other fairways but new ownership is working to improve the problems. Great value for the money.

We enjoy playing the course even before the new owners. They did a lot of work to make it enjoyable

Greens were good and staff was great. Pace of play was a little slow but not bad - 4.5 hours on a Sunday works. Decent value for the cost.

We teed off early and as a "play ready" twosome we played in just under 3 hrs. We could see that they are trying to bring the course back from neglect, but they do have a bit to go. We would play there again when we return to the area.

Course so bad last year did not plan to return. But did and find it much improved. Greens have a nice healthy look and for the most part free of blemishes. Fairways are much better. A better balance of desert and green fairways. Fairway grass appears to be recoverying. Pace of play was very good. Little lessthan 4 hrs. Keep up the good work and improvements.

The course is a good value for the money. We played in early February with overseeded winter grass on the course. The greens had very challenging pin placements, however, some of the greens had bare spots. The fairways were well maintained without a lot of rough. The course has a lot of potential and I look forward to playing again when the Bermuda grass has become active.

The greens are in good shape and very playable. The tee boxes need a little work.

This course is under new ownership and they are trying hard, however they have a long way to go. Brush piles laying around, few ball washers, poor drainage, etc .therefore bad odor.
We played 2 days after a 2"+ rainfall. Didn't see any grounds crew at work, although did see them driving around.

Interesting tract, 3 par3, 3 par 4 and 3 par 5 0n each nine.

We played Southern Ridge for the first time since new ownership took over and im happy to say their doing some good things at a course that was so run down the last time we played there yeafa ago. First off let me say its still a long way off to be a must play course,but their doing the right things to get it there. The carts are allbrand new and so are the bathrooms on the course,for the course itself the greens are good ,smaller in size with alot of slope on some of them,fairways need alot more seed as do most of the tee boxes. The lay out is good and the pace of play was also good. Overall its a fun course for the beginner to high handicapper,if your a single digit player dont exspect to be wowed.

We haven't been out to this course for years. We haven't missed much. The driving range is a joke. According to the player paired up with our group, the new owners have been making many improvements. Hopefully this will continue as the course has potential to be a desirable option.

THE COURSE WAS NOT IN GOOD CONDITION. SPARSE GRASS IN FAIRWAYS. FAIRWAYS HARD AS A ROCK. COURSE IS CHEAP TO PLAY FOR A REASON. WOULD NOT GOT BACK.
