About
Grand Canyon University Golf Course (formerly known as Maryvale Municipal Golf Course) offers an 18-hole track designed by Ted Robinson, Sr. and built in 1961. The par-71 golf course measures 7,269 yards from the championship tees and is open year-round.
The Bermuda grass Grand Canyon University Golf Course gets plenty of shade during the summer, thanks to several onsite trees, and features flat and wide fairways.
The fourth hole, for one example, is a 160-yard par-3 where you'll have to shoot over the water - and past the brick wall that separates the green from the water.

Punishing for average players
Course is set up for college players who will be pro’s soon. Average players are punished when you hit good shots. Bunkers everywhere and remember the average adult male only hits drives about 220 yards, and there are bunkers in those areas. Too hard. Greens were in good condition.
Great greens. Challenging layout
Not your typical desert course at all. Layout was fun and challenging. Greens rolled great (fast but great). Played in under 4 hours.
Great Coarse - Lots of bunkers
I had to play GCU a couple of time before I started enjoying it. Most of the holes have a lot of sand and you can get in trouble being pin high in the trap. Bunkers are in good shape and I like sand but their not for everyone. GCU students who work there are friendly and the food is good, especially for the neighborhood.
Green fees are much more reasonable with a City of Phoenix Golf card.
Great as always.
Always in great condition and greens are among the best anywhere. Always return each time we are in Phoenix.
Worth the money
The greens were rough. It’s more like playing on a Astro turf that just had a football game played on it. Putts wormed and weaved their way to the hole.

Good course friendly staff. Would be prefect for walking.

The greens were in perfect shape. Fairways were great. The bunkers were taken care of. They are deep. They have good sand.
