Ventura Country Club

Some of the greeens were a little rough, not rolling true. There had been a lot of rain lately and the course was soggy, cart path only today.

Hello, it is a nice course, the greens are under repair so the price should be much cheaper since the ball bounces on the green instead of rolling, the restaurant is excellent and the service is very good.

Course wasn’t in great shape. Greens were puttable, but grass was sparse. Seemed more like compacted soil than green grass. Holes were cool enough. Conditions just weren’t.

Have played the course many times and it has always been in good shape, this time I was very disappointed by the poor state of the greens and the general feeling of a tired course.

Hard to find any puttable grass on the greens. Play the blues as the Whites are too short. I am not a 280 driver but I nearly dorove the first green from the whites. Nice layout with a few challenging holes but again the greens were not in a good shape especially for those snow birds that come down to play (I am not one of them)

I only paid about $35 which is ok. Tee boxes and fairways were average. Course layout was fun and definitely offers more of a a country club type play vs other courses in the area. But wow these were probably the WORST GREENS I have played on. Literally just mud and dirt with hardly any grass. Maybe one green was 5 out of 10. The rest were awful.

I would play here again for its convenience, layout, amenities. But man you might as well just pickup from inside 10 feet

Pulling up to Ventura country club is like stepping back in time. A beautiful clubhouse is accented by the lovely pool. You can just tell, that back in the day, this place was rocking. Oiled up hotties smokin' Benson&hedges poolside is what I'm seeing in my minds eye. But I digress, on to the course. The course is an absolute treat. Don't let the 6002 yard layout fool you. It's a par 70 for starters. The shortest par 3 from the back tees is 155 yards, I believe. A couple monster par 5's as well. Some of the par 4's are shorter and that's why the total yardage seems lacking. Some really beautiful holes on this course. Great turf around the greens. I would definitely play again if I lived in Florida. Enjoy!!

Their website states that a round of golf on the weekend is $35 plus tax before 11. That is not true. I paid $70 this past weekend to play this course. Simply put the courses in horrendous condition. Almost every single green was 90% compacted mud with little to no grass on most of them. The fairways were extremely spotty with most fairways having large amounts of mud/wet areas in them. This is definitely not a $70 round of golf course. I’m not sure where they’re getting off charging people that. I would look elsewhere if you’re looking to spend $70–100 dollars on a round of golf. Snapped a picture of what I believe is the fourth green. The dark areas in the green are compacted mud/dirt.

We played this course for the first time and if it wasn’t for the price I would have given this review a tough mark . Greens looked burnt and fairways are rough .

This is an old tired course. It was off season golf so we didn’t expect the course to be lush or the greens to be in optimum shape however it was really neglected. The setting is pretty, the layout is confusing.

The course layout is great. Staff are helpful and friendly. The fairways are decent. The greens condition are not the best, need improvement.
