Ventura Country Club

First time playing after the course was closed for many months due to renovation. I wonder if they are going to replace the dirt cart paths created around some of the holes with new pavement like was there originally. Seems like money was spent in areas that didn't require it to me.

The course was in good shape, but the pace of play was a bit slow. Need a ranger out there to help move things along.

Was told they just finished construction on the greens making them bigger, very tight but fun holes. The driver should stay in the bag on this course.

I had a very nice day at Ventura. The course is undergoing some renovations, but they do not impede the ability to play.

Course in great shape, greens are quick and hold line.

This course is decent. Fairways were ok. Sometimes hard to find balls in longer grass. Greens were good. No crowds.

The lack of signs guiding the direction to the next tee are completely missing and as it is not obvious where the next tee is this is confusing. The course is set between houses so the layout it going back and forth, but that is ok.

There were a lot of changes. Bridges taken out and new sand cart paths. A lot of trees and hedges gone! A lot of new sod that has not quite grown in. Different but I still like the course.

I’ve been here before. They did a real good job redoing the course since they been closed. They had some right wing media news playing in the club house (which I really don’t care what your political beliefs are, but why on earth are you playing that in a club house?). The pace of play was so slow it was annoying and there was no ranger telling people they have to speed it up.

I definitely recommend Ventura as a fun place to play a round. The staff is friendly and helpful. The beverage cart was appreciated! The course was in very good condition (especially for a January). While a few of the holes are a little funky, overall, we had a great time, and I will be back!

Beautiful course- sufficient challenges- the greens are super fast

I've played at the majority of courses in Orlando and this course by far has the worst layout...to the point where it wasn't enjoyable. The layout is so terrible it was even hard to find the next tee box on several holes. We were told the course just went through a $3M renovation but I wouldn't say that out loud. The fairways and greens were in good shape even though the greens were like glass and if you landed on the green your ball was guaranteed to roll off. And the fairways had very tight lies which made it difficult to hit a plush shot. The pace of play was terrible also being that we had a group of members in front of us that were playing at a 5 hour pace. To give them some credit, the course does have nice facilities. I just wouldn't play here again due to the terrible layout. I assume the fairways won't always have tight lies and the greens won't always be cut to the point where it feels like you're putting on glass but that layout is the worst I've ever seen on a golf course. Definitely not for me.

Greens Great. fairways great. Tee boxes need more time. All of the changes seem to be nice but some need time to fill in. Would recommend for the price. No real driving range. Beat bet is to stop in at Bad Dog Range outside the gate on Curry Ford.
