Eagle Vines Vineyards & Golf Club is tucked away in the foothills of Napa Valley, offering one of the most scenic courses in the area. It is also considered by many locals to be one of the most challenging. Every hole on the golf course provides stunning views of the surrounding vineyards. The layout sprawls across gently rolling hills that weave through stands of mature cherry and oak trees, shimmering waterfalls, and meandering creeks. The golf course offers challenging multi-tiered greens and postage-stamp landing areas that demand well placed iron shots. The memorable seventh hole features an even more difficult island green. There are also some tricky fairways that seem much more open than they are. Eagle Vines numerous risk-reward opportunities that will have golfers using every club in their bag.

Course was in pretty good shape & wide open, except for the occasional group that was considerate enough to allow smaller groups to play through. We (3) were able to finish in 3.25 hours!

Napa Address keeps rates artificially High.

Greens are pretty good. Fairways, fair. Tee boxes are terrible. Driving range, terrible.

Rates are kept high due to location near Napa, and it's over reliance on Vineyards for tourism.

But the grapes hopefully bring in more than the golf.

Tee boxes have a large High spot in the middle, causing that area to be over used.

Flatten out you tee boxes. And take better care of them.

Some bunkers are being rebuilt. A Very expensive project.

But, there was construction going on. The vineyard looked like it was half dead.

The ambiance was gone.

Tee boxes were garbage. They were torn up, never flat. Sometimes you’re teeing off on a side hill lie.

Bunkers garbage. Most had no sand, just hard compacted dirt (even greenside).

The practice putting green was nice but the greens on the course were slow and furry.

The best part of the course was the fairways. However, there were lots of muddy spots (on a hot day).

The rough was long, which is fine but adds to the length of the round because balls are getting lost in the rough. The round took five hours.

The course is extremely pretty so that’s what brings you back (plus the hope that course conditions will be improved).

Eagle Vines Not A Bucket Lister For Napa Valley

Early morning tee time was great. I was told after paying my fees there was a tournament that would be starting at hole 12 by the time they projected my foursome to arrive at that hole. Surprisingly we played decent to avoid that juggernaut .

The course was a bit rough and a ton of crabgrass in the sparse fairways ! Tee boxes were reminiscent of a golf course struggling to uphold a past reputation and condition. Greens were fairly decent and the course overall was a 5+ out of 10. Pace of play was decent because us first five foursomes out were under 8 indexes . Would I play this course again, most likely no because it’s not a level of a course I’m particularly used to. Would I recommend it to at 10-30 index, yes. It’s a great course and has enough target golf shots on it to make it difficult for the higher index folks. This was my first time playing it and shot 3over from the tips and par is 73. The outside staff was friendly and what seemed to be the GM/Head Pro was kind. The gentleman taking the money seemed to have woken up in a hostile mood. I said it was my first time playing and he said “that’s nice good for you”…and said with sarcasm! So I won’t be back. There’s far more tracks in this state to play where you feel welcomed.

Golf in the Vines

I have enjoyed playing this course on several occasions. The course is unique and challenging. The #1 hole is a tough start and the most difficult. The layout is fun with island holes and elevated tees. Complaints are the bunkers are rock hard and the driving range is useless.

The course is fairly long and overall well maintained. The course is fun and the fairways wide. The reason I gave a 4 rating is because the bunkers are as hard as rock and the driving range is unusable. I will play here again.
