Kelly Plantation Golf Club

I don’t normally review based on customer service. I had one of the first tee times today, got a bit of rain last night too. Drove an hour to the course. Called them 3 times on the way there just to make sure they were open, no answer. I finally get to the gate and it says closed. I call again, they answer and say they’re closed. Went and played Raven Golf Club down the road and had a great time.

Course conditions were great. Fairway, rough and greens well maintained. Greens especially nice and true. Staff very nice, no complaints at all. Would play again.

I’ve played courses for 40 years. 140 bucks for average courses is way too expensive. They had recently airated the greens but despite this, it was still not worth that much. Burnt pine in Sandestin is much better

Pro shop not overly friendly - seem to have paid taxes twice. Guys outside were great.

Started us on 10- but then sent 2somes behind us (4some) to start after we made the turn and went to #1. Very uncomfortable and poor planning on their part.

We had to wait a few times for someone ahead of us and then the cart repeatedly told us we weer 7 minutes behind. Not a friendly feeling.

We paid 40% more than other courses with a very mundane course. Par 4’s we’re all the same.

The number of tee boxes were also misrepresented as we were looking for the last tee option that did not exist.

We were in town on vacation and decided to play this course mainly because many others were closed for aeration. As it turned out, they had also aerated the greens here. I was a little disappointed, but other than that, it is a spectacular place. Tee boxes, fairways, and every other element was fantastic. On top of that we essentially had the course to ourselves late in the afternoon. I would love to play it again when the greens are in top shape.

Very nice course/club. Unfortunately, the greens and fairways were just aerated - something that happens annually this time of year (first week of May, most courses in Destin area aerate ). Enjoyed the layout - look forward to return visit under better conditions.

Course was nice but just not worth the $205 I spent(after taxes and fees).

Course was everything I expected. I play this course at least per trip (twice a year), and it is always great. Tees and fairways have lots of grass (no bare spots) and greens rolls fantastic! Well done!

I really enjoyed the views and level of difficulty the course presented.

Missed playing Kelly last year due to the renovations. The course was in excellent condition, the new bunkers and tee boxes were great; weather perfect, great layout, big alligator between #3 green and #4 teeing area. Overall excellent!! In the Top 3 courses on the Emerald Coast.

Best course I golfed during my Destin trip hands down.

Course was very dry. Greens were dry and hard. Need abundance of watering.

Let’s start with the good.

Bag guys are awesome, the range grass is spectacular and the greens are much improved from last year.

Now for bad

The guys in the pro shop should not be customer facing. Most really belong in a nursing home and not working with public.

Ran into the cart girl on hole 3 and then nothing the rest of the day.

Now the ugly

This course is not a high end course. It should be 80-90 dollars but for some reason courses in Destin try and get resort prices.

The pace of play was terrible and like every other ranger in Florida he just drove around looking for golf balls.

Well, then you walk inside and the staff inside should probably be in a nursing home and not dealing with public.

The range was in great shape and new t boxes need a few months and a lot of water.

This course should be 80-100 dollar and no more.

Pace of play was dismal and we waited every shot all day long. At 9 am in the morning I would expect a better pace of play and not 5 hours plus.

We saw the cart girl one time all 18 holes and the water is very lacking on the course.
