Formerly home to a turpentine plantation, the site now offers one of the most environmentally sensitive courses in northwest Florida, Kelly Plantation. The golf course sits along the shores of the Choctawhatchee Bay, sprawling across a waterfront landscape of towering trees and swampy bayous. The course features large, contoured greens and wide, manicured fairways that are in excellent condition but can also be tricky to navigate. The strategically placed hazards also require some careful maneuvering. In addition to being a challenging round, the golf course is also known for its stunning scenic appeal. Throughout the layout, golfers can enjoy panoramic views across the bay to the abundant magnolias and palmettos that are native to Florida's northwest region. For these reasons, Kelly Plantation has received high praise from publications such as Golf Digest and Golf Magazine.

Great experience!!

I travel to Destin twice a year from Ft Worth. This week I played Kelly Plantation 6 times. The last day I played 36 holes in just over 4 hours. The entire staff could not have been more accommodating!! The cart guys were very friendly. I had some interesting conversations with them. The front desk personnel were very friendly and efficient. The starter got me out in front of big groups every day I played. I never had a round over 3 hours!! In my opinion it was a week of perfect golf. Very relaxing. Great customer service!! Well done!!

We aerated on August 14, which was about 2 weeks ago. Normally greens take about 3 to 4 weeks to fully heal and in light of that we were happy to discount our rates through the remainder of August. Challenging but fun

First few holes were in not such great shape, bunkers weren't raked, sand strewn beyond the bunkers, etc but course seemed to improve after about the 4th hole. Holes didn't have signs to identify which hole we were on, at the tee box, took a couple of times to make sure we're at the right place. At the turn, they had very refreshing cold towels and ice cold apples which tasted great. No cart service. The what we paid, I would have hoped for a better experience but still a good round.

Devils in the details

Great track, fun layout with some challenging holes with some risk reward holes. You’ll need to drive it fairly well to play well out here. The course was in excellent shape through the green, the practice area was superb. Staff was friendly, plenty of water on the course plus the beverage cart was very attentive and friendly. Iced mango towels and apples on the tenth tee is always a nice treat. Clubhouse was well stocked with some quality gear. My only suggestion would be cut out the fivesome it’s just no good for pace of play. Also the greens were a bit too soft not what I would expect for $180 green fee. Everything else was top notch!

Awesome experience

Second time playing and well worth the trip to Destin, staying in PCB. Only negative was the pace of play with a foursome that had the first tee time of the day. The Marshall with gps should’ve picked up on this because it backed up the entire course. After the 8th hole the problem was recognized. 2 1/2 hour front nine, 1 1/2 hour back nine. Beautiful course, layout, a challenging track. I will come back again!
