Formerly home to a turpentine plantation, the site now offers one of the most environmentally sensitive courses in northwest Florida, Kelly Plantation. The golf course sits along the shores of the Choctawhatchee Bay, sprawling across a waterfront landscape of towering trees and swampy bayous. The course features large, contoured greens and wide, manicured fairways that are in excellent condition but can also be tricky to navigate. The strategically placed hazards also require some careful maneuvering. In addition to being a challenging round, the golf course is also known for its stunning scenic appeal. Throughout the layout, golfers can enjoy panoramic views across the bay to the abundant magnolias and palmettos that are native to Florida's northwest region. For these reasons, Kelly Plantation has received high praise from publications such as Golf Digest and Golf Magazine.

Great Course

This was a very challenging course. Conditions were great for winter. The greens speeds were somewhat inconsistent but rolled well. Pace was great the first nine but slow on the back nine. Staff was great all day.

Having a tournament during normal hours..

Booked the course through a hot deal, because I like the course alot and for the price. The course had 4 or more groups of semi pros playing a tournament after my group teed off. After 9 holes the pace of play got so bad we were backed up by the 4 some in front of of spending 5 plus minutes on the greens. At the turn I told the starter about the very slow pace and he told me they should have told me before I teed off.. I booked the round online so I didn't know. Why would you have a tournament during normal hours. Close the course in that case.., it's a very expensive course and I left after 14 holes. Very frustrating and disappointing.

Great greens, slow pace of play

Very nice layout and greens. Fairways, tee boxes and rough are ok for this time of the year but not worth $139.

Pace of play was pretty slow. People working there are very friendly.

Course very fun to play but bit pricey, but all nice course in Destin are overpriced for this time of the year.

What a great golf course! Friendly staff and course was excellent with the exception of the fairways. There absolutely was nothing anywhere to hit off of. If you can't hit off zero turf, don't expect to score well! I do know that in season this course is superb!

Beautiful Golf Course

I played here many times, and I always love it. The only complained I have is the key lock on those outdoor ladies restrooms were not working. Hopefully it will be working the next time I play golf there....

Nice layout

Good track. Four or five “tricked-up” greens should not have hole locations on major slopes. GPS screen did not work during our round.
