Formerly home to a turpentine plantation, the site now offers one of the most environmentally sensitive courses in northwest Florida, Kelly Plantation. The golf course sits along the shores of the Choctawhatchee Bay, sprawling across a waterfront landscape of towering trees and swampy bayous. The course features large, contoured greens and wide, manicured fairways that are in excellent condition but can also be tricky to navigate. The strategically placed hazards also require some careful maneuvering. In addition to being a challenging round, the golf course is also known for its stunning scenic appeal. Throughout the layout, golfers can enjoy panoramic views across the bay to the abundant magnolias and palmettos that are native to Florida's northwest region. For these reasons, Kelly Plantation has received high praise from publications such as Golf Digest and Golf Magazine.

The members need to learn ettiquette

The course is in amazing shape. The staff is so nice. It’s a great track. We played a round in under 4 hours and got pushed by a group of members on every hole. We waited on the group ahead of us and they waited on the group ahead of them. The group ahead of us had to let another group of members play through and then they waited on them. If your members want to play a 3 hour round they need to get the first tee time of the day or expect to play the courses established pace of play rule. The members we encountered ruined a $200 round and we will likely not be coming back.

Very good course

Very good course that is beautiful. Not that difficult. Plenty of tee options. Seems to be designed for the tips to be played. Most traps not in play from shorter tees. Enjoyable round if golf in beautiful place.

This golf course is in excellent condition including the clubhouse, restaurant, etc. Ashton Crowe, General Manager, runs the course perfectly and takes great care of the members and all who come to play. I play this course every year and customer service is top notch.

This course is always in front of you….not blind shots where you don’t know where to hit

The course layout is great and also has some spectacular water views..

They greet you when you arrive and everyone is very nice and helpful.

The pro shop has cool shirts and hats.

The food is outstanding….you can order food on hole 9 and stop and get it as you make your way to the back nine……they also have a barrel with apples at hole 10. The club has inside dining with full menu.

We spent a weeks vacation in Destin and we played 5 times at Kelly Plantation.

Tourist Trap

The fairways were beautiful, greens had recently been sanded. The course itself was nothing special. I have played other courses on the gulf just as nice for a lot less money.. $189 + tax green fee. If you play in the off season, it's $60 cheaper. I asked. No real signature hole.
