About
Foothills Golf Club offers 18 holes of golf on a golf course designed by Jay Morrish and Tom Weiskopf and built in 1988. The par-72 golf course measures 6,901 yards. Foothills Golf Club sits among the South Mountains, and features a contrast of challenge and forgiveness on a links-style course that allows golfers to play a target layout that has more than 65 bunkers that daunt, fairways that roll and desert that has a lot of rocks. The fabulous championship golf course provides the locale for all levels of golfer to shoot a memorable day of golf.
After taking in the views of the South Mountains on the Foothills Golf Club's golf course, head back to the clubhouse, for wonderful vistas of the course and the Estrella Mountain Range.

A good time
Reciently reseaded so the course was cart path and rough only which caused a relatively slow pace.. fairways and greens were in great shape. My only complaint was that the bar and restaurant were closed when we finished and it was mid afternoon.

Pace of play was way too slow due to the group immediately in front t of us - no Marshall on the course

Foothills
Pace of play very slow. Had a slow 5some in front of us. Only able to play 14 holes in 4 hours.

Coming Along
I see some big improvements. Only thing is the tee boxes need some help. Very unlevel.
If the price stays reasonable, I will play here alot.

I only played nine holes as the pace of play was very slow and no Marshall was around to help. 2:40 minutes for nine holes.

Overall I had a good time on the course! However, when I booked the tee time there was no notice that over-seeding was in effect. The round was discounted when I got there but still $70. Would love to say it was worth it but I wish I could've played the course in better condition since I did like the layout of it.

Closed for overseeding - not notified
Booked the course three weeks in advanced and showed up for tee time and course was closed due to overseeding. Was not notified of closure ahead of time.

Mowed grass
They left mowed grass all over the greens and I lost prob 10 balls in over the day and tha fairways were dry and brown.

Right before oversead
Other reviews I read prior to booking were great. Then we showed up. And bam. The course was dead grass all fairways and tee boxes. And found out after arriving, that over-seeding was starting the next day. They closed at 12, and not one person in club house mentioned anything about over-seeding and didn’t see a single sign about it. We were told by the groundskeeper on course. Way too much money for a course that was on its last day. I was extremely upset that there were reviews stating it was in great shape literally two days prior, and I know grass doesn’t die that fast. Not pleased with this surprise.

Slow Pace
The guys in the clubhouse, the cart guys and Stacy in the snack bar were all super friendly. The views were spectacular. The maintenance crew was scraping the fairways which is probably why the cost was inexpensive, which probably led to newbies golfing there. I’ll admit the cost is the reason I decided to try the course. It was painfully slow. I’ll definitely return to the course this winter where I hope the higher cost per round will hasten the pace of play.
I already recommended the course to a couple of friends.

Fun Track
I unfortunately don't waste my time on the driving range as it's a joke. There is never any grass on the range, as there are big areas of dirt. I wish they would fix the range and have move grass and not sand under the grass, but real dirt.
This is a fun track. When playing from the back tees, it changes how the course sets up.
The layout can be challenging, but there are a lot of holes where everything is right in front of you.
Staff is friendly and willing to help.
Here are some areas for improvement:
Pace of play - SLOW! No matter what time of time, it's slow! We could play this course faster, but there is no one out there enforcing any sort of pace of play. When you see groups of players that are 1-2 holes behind and continue to hit shots or not even pay attention to others waiting, that's a problem. Send someone out to tell them to pick up and move faster.
Tee boxes - please level these out. A lot of tee boxes are uneven, so you have to find a location to one side to tee off.
Amenitites - I think I purchased the worlds most expensensive hot dogs. No a lot of other things to buy to snack on other than a hot dog (when they have them) and some chips/candy.
The cart paths could be fixed, as a lot of them are broken or uneven, making it a tough ride on the path, so we are forced to go drive onto the grass.
