About
Dayton Valley Golf Club is an Arnold Palmer Signature design that has been a PGA Tour Qualifier course since 1995, making it the longest standing site in the country. The course is surrounded by the Sierra Nevada Mountains and stretches across the valley below. The rolling, links-style layout features sculpted fairways and large, undulating greens. You may find yourself faced with a tough lie even after a good shot. It's a challenging test with plenty of water and strategically placed bunkers coming into play throughout. Careful shot placement is especially important on the water holes at Dayton Valley G.C. The most difficult hole on the golf course is the par-4 ninth. It's a lengthy dogleg left with water down along the entire left side of the fairway and short and right of the green. On your approach, hitting left of the green you'll find heavy rough or pot bunkers.

An Improving Track
When this course was first built, it must have been quite gorgeous. Love all the water and all the mounds on the fairways. Duncan has bought it and I hope they will do it better over time - now, it's good but far from great - fairways are a bit of a mess and the sand in the traps is almost non-existent. It's a drive to get there so I do hope it will come back to its "glory days!"

Winter Golf at its finest...more or less
Course is still getting healed after, evidently, years of neglect. Clearly, this was once a really lovely golf course. Duncan bought it a few years ago and I don't know what they've been doing these past three years? Fairways need work, traps are lousy, and the greens are okay - hard to tell as they had been punched recently.
Terrible grass condition
I live on the driving range and have seen it go from green to sand. Dead trees throughout the golf course. Today, the wind blew sand like a dozen helicopter landings. Owners are unwilling to do ANYTHING,
The clubhouse food is terrible too.

To much sand on greens
I love the course just to much sand on the green's they should have let the customers know the condition of the green's

How could you let this beautiful course go?
This was my favorite course in the Reno, Sparks, Carson area. Duncan was going to sell it and let it go. Water issues galore. It tuned into almost a swamp. Someone new bought it and transferred it back to the splendor it once enjoyed. This year it is in the same condition Duncan left it. I cannot get anyone to drive out there to golf. I have 2 free passes and still cannot get another to join me. I belong to NNSGC, as well as a large group 28-40 guys who golf together. No one wants to play you anymore. Are you preparing to sell it or just stopped caring about golf and your past clients.

Best Golf Course in Lyon/Carson County
Dayton Valley Golf Course can be challenging but fun. The greens are in great shape as is the fairways. There's a couple of holes with some rough edges but other than that the course is in great shape right now. The pace of play is very good and the 101 Bar & Grill is a great place to finish for a drink and/or bite to eat with a friendly crew and watch your favorite sport on the multiple TVs.

Course was nice the only downside was the sand traps , they have a lots of pebble rocks , fast pace of play, we could have finish our round in 3 hrs but we stopped to order food and we still finished on 4 hrs

Needs some TLC
Great course and have played here many times. Too bad seeing standing water and dead trees on a few holes. Lots of algae in the ponds too. Ran into TWO separate 5-somes on the course which is ridiculous. Why people can't show some courtesy and etiquette is beyond me. It took an hour to play 16,17 and 18 because of these bozos.

8-29-2023 - Golf with Friends
A little breezy, but it was a warm breeze. For some reason, not crowded at all today. Threesome finished the round in 4 hours. Club house bar and restaurant has plenty to offer!

Nice course
I finally got the chance to play this course and while I wasn't disappointed, I dont think I'll be back due to the cost.
The course was challenging and in decent shape, but not worth the price unless you're getting a great deal.

Due to the LONG winter we had the course is in terrible condition, all traps are gravel pits and fairways are a mess.
