About

Dayton Valley Golf Club is an Arnold Palmer Signature design that has been a PGA Tour Qualifier course since 1995, making it the longest standing site in the country. The course is surrounded by the Sierra Nevada Mountains and stretches across the valley below. The rolling, links-style layout features sculpted fairways and large, undulating greens. You may find yourself faced with a tough lie even after a good shot. It's a challenging test with plenty of water and strategically placed bunkers coming into play throughout. Careful shot placement is especially important on the water holes at Dayton Valley G.C. The most difficult hole on the golf course is the par-4 ninth. It's a lengthy dogleg left with water down along the entire left side of the fairway and short and right of the green. On your approach, hitting left of the green you'll find heavy rough or pot bunkers.

This course has possibilities

The course desperately needs better water management. There were areas that had not seen water in weeks Some of the sand traps had water in them. The sand in the traps was terrible. You are hitting of if dirt.

Backed up

Got to play with my son for the first time this year. The condition of the course was as good as any in the area and I've always liked the course. We were playing as a twosome for the first four holes got backed up on the fifth.The twosome behind us joined us on the sixth and we pretty much waited a minute a hole.Long story shorts, took us just under 5 hours, so if you have some where to go you maybe upset. I on the other hand enjoyed every minute of it.

Greens are in great condition

Thank you to the Management staff at Dayton Valley Golf. It has been 2 years since we played out at your course regularly. We were greeted by your pro at the desk who was more than happy to fill us in on the course conditions and information about an upcoming event at the course. Very helpful! The course was in great condition. If there was any complaint it would be there was too much water in some area with water that really stinks. We were very happy with the experience. We will be back.

Good shape

Course is in good shape. Greens were a little slow and the tee boxes could use a little love, but overall I was happy with the course conditions and pace of play. The bunkers are rock hard, even by Northern Nevada standards. I hit out of the first one I landed in and then just started pulling it out. The area around the green on 7 could use some grass. That's a tough approach shot as it is, and with there being no grass in that area other than the green, it's kind of unfair.

Great shape

Been a few years since I have been to Dayton Valley. Impressed with how lush the course is, as they've focused a lot on course conditions coming off the massive winter.

Probably wait

Bunkers need a lot of work. They’re like gravel pits. Way too many bunkers, too many to take care of. Should just fill half of them in. Greens ok, should improve soon. Tees n fairways ok.

Like the course but pace of play was not good.

Our foursome was scheduled behind a very slow group who obviously saw us waiting a number of times, but did not have the courtesy to wave us through. We did not encounter any marshall on the course to regulate pace of play. We like the course, and the staff.
