About
Dayton Valley Golf Club is an Arnold Palmer Signature design that has been a PGA Tour Qualifier course since 1995, making it the longest standing site in the country. The course is surrounded by the Sierra Nevada Mountains and stretches across the valley below. The rolling, links-style layout features sculpted fairways and large, undulating greens. You may find yourself faced with a tough lie even after a good shot. It's a challenging test with plenty of water and strategically placed bunkers coming into play throughout. Careful shot placement is especially important on the water holes at Dayton Valley G.C. The most difficult hole on the golf course is the par-4 ninth. It's a lengthy dogleg left with water down along the entire left side of the fairway and short and right of the green. On your approach, hitting left of the green you'll find heavy rough or pot bunkers.

Very tricky fairways and super slow greens.
The course appears to be in a downhill course if not already hitting the bottom mostly due to mediocre management. Ten years ago or so, Dayton Valley was one of the premier courses in the area and I didn’t mind driving long distance driving from my house to play there and other courses. The staff was friendly and very courteous. Recently , it started getting bad and now it’s really bad.. The current owner may be a good person and may like the game but he was not very friendly nor helpful to us. He was quite sarcastic when I asked him if there was some discount for a lady’s shirt since I was buying another shirt , referring that I had bought several shirts in the past from them and got some discount. He said that nowadays everything was expensive and even complained that his home electricity bill for this month was $300. It’s totally irrelevant. I bought two shirts but decided never buy anything from them again and even not coming back to play here. The course was poorly maintained and needed some repair work anyway overall. Sorry to see that this beautiful course is not being kept well.

If not for 30 mph winds, would have been great.
Good staff, fries were some of the best ever.

Dayton Valley
If you can get out on this course without any wind then grab your clubs and enjoy what I would consider Reno/ Tahoe’s best golf value. U won’t find a better all around golf experience than here in Dayton. A winner every time!!

First round 23
After long winter months, got a chance to play. First round 23. Obviously a little rusty. Was a good day all around. Greens are fast. Fairways decent. Pace of play picked up about the 8th hole. Hole 12 still closed. Will be back.

1st round after a month
I enjoyed the ride to the golf course. Appreciated the Pro greeting me and giving me the layout quickly and sending me out a little early to make a foursome. The starter was a little crabby guess he didn’t like changes made by the Pro. Course was in good shape and greens were easy to read and just right. 12 was closed for remodeling. The made a short 65 yard par 3 on it to get all 18. I’ll go back.

Nice Course, but a Bit Wet
Definitely a nice course, especially for the price, but appears to have a few drainage issues. The ground was swampy in a few places and the 12th hole was closed completely for renovations. Some bunkers were muddy with standing water which was not a result of rain. Mostly it was a course in good shape with typical Palmer water, bunkers and moguls. Staff was very friendly. I'd play here again my next time in Reno

Great track for the money!
You honestly cant get a better course in the Reno/Carson area for the price. Its well maintained and a good layout. Greens roll smooth and not a lot of dead grass, which is tough for a desert course.
Bunkers could be a better sand but for 40 bucks you cant expect Agusta white bunkers.
