About
Dayton Valley Golf Club is an Arnold Palmer Signature design that has been a PGA Tour Qualifier course since 1995, making it the longest standing site in the country. The course is surrounded by the Sierra Nevada Mountains and stretches across the valley below. The rolling, links-style layout features sculpted fairways and large, undulating greens. You may find yourself faced with a tough lie even after a good shot. It's a challenging test with plenty of water and strategically placed bunkers coming into play throughout. Careful shot placement is especially important on the water holes at Dayton Valley G.C. The most difficult hole on the golf course is the par-4 ninth. It's a lengthy dogleg left with water down along the entire left side of the fairway and short and right of the green. On your approach, hitting left of the green you'll find heavy rough or pot bunkers.

Needs help
Due to the LONG winter we had the course is in terrible condition, all traps are gravel pits and fairways are a mess.
Yuck
No water stations, no starter, no ambassadors and play was torturously sloooooooow.
Sadly, will not be back. ☹️

The Course is Burnt
This is normally a great course but it is burnt as of now. There is a lot of standing water and the bunkers are all like small ponds. I can say it is probably from the heat and too much fertilizer. I will continue to play this course but not this year just to let it get fixed up.

Rough conditions
Played this course a lot of the years. New ownership this year and horrible course conditions. Everything was dead besides the greens. I understand they had watering issues but for the condition of the course it should have been a 20 dollar round. Won’t be making the drive out to play again until next year. Really like the course but it needs work.

Extremely poor condition T-box to green.Fairways dead. Weeds in sand traps etc.
Would not recommend this course to anyone this year. It seems they don't have staff or money to keep it playable condition. It used to be excellent when Duncan managed the course.

This course has possibilities
The course desperately needs better water management. There were areas that had not seen water in weeks Some of the sand traps had water in them. The sand in the traps was terrible. You are hitting of if dirt.

Backed up
Got to play with my son for the first time this year. The condition of the course was as good as any in the area and I've always liked the course. We were playing as a twosome for the first four holes got backed up on the fifth.The twosome behind us joined us on the sixth and we pretty much waited a minute a hole.Long story shorts, took us just under 5 hours, so if you have some where to go you maybe upset. I on the other hand enjoyed every minute of it.

Greens are in great condition
Thank you to the Management staff at Dayton Valley Golf. It has been 2 years since we played out at your course regularly. We were greeted by your pro at the desk who was more than happy to fill us in on the course conditions and information about an upcoming event at the course. Very helpful! The course was in great condition. If there was any complaint it would be there was too much water in some area with water that really stinks. We were very happy with the experience. We will be back.

This is an exceptional course. Well maintained and fun to play. Only downside this time was Mother Nature and her strong winds.

Good shape
Course is in good shape. Greens were a little slow and the tee boxes could use a little love, but overall I was happy with the course conditions and pace of play. The bunkers are rock hard, even by Northern Nevada standards. I hit out of the first one I landed in and then just started pulling it out. The area around the green on 7 could use some grass. That's a tough approach shot as it is, and with there being no grass in that area other than the green, it's kind of unfair.
