starter
Course ok, most of staff good. One issue when we made the turn...nobody in front or behind us until the 10th tee. Suddenly a foursome appeared in front of us. Asked the starter why. His response was VERY unprofessional and our pace of play was very slow in the back. Starter probably on the take, and because of him, will not play the course again. Too many other course choices to have to deal with one jerk at one course.
Slow Play early Monday Morning
Was 3rd group (3 some) out Monday Morning, behind a 2 some (6:40AM) and 4 some. The round took 4.5 hours after 17 holes (I left on 17th). The 2 some let the 4 some play through.
The course itself was great, and made you think on where to place your drives and approach shots to avoid the bunkers - was in 1 bunker all day. The fairways were undulating and you were left with uneven lies which made a challenging approach shots. The morning wind was not that strong, I assume the afternoon would be a lot windier. Lot of short par 4s, and long par 4s. First time shot 83 from yellow tees, with a par on the road hole being the memorable hole for me But the pace of play for early Monday morning was inexcusable. If your going to replicate the British Open courses you should also replicate their pace of play.
Thank you Acehomey for your review and feedback of Royal Links Golf Club.We apologize that the pace of play was not to your liking. We are always trying to keep an eye on it, but it can be quite challenging sometimes. Please let us know if you need anything while you are here and we hope to see you again soon!
Outstanding Experience
Played Royal Links for the first time - what a great course. Course was in excellent condition, greens were fast and rolled true. Fairways were firm and fast and it was very authentic to courses Ive played in Scotland. Bunkers are brutal but fair. Staff inside were more than accommodating and the food was much better than I had anticipated. Having played other courses in Vegas and all over the country I can honestly say it is well worth your time and money to play here.
Thank you CaptChunk for your review and 5-Stars! We appreciate you taking the time and recommending us to golfers all over the world. Please let us know if you need anything at all while you are here and we look forward to having you back out on the course again very soon!
The staff is awesome
It was my first time there and I took an important customer, I booked 2 foursomes on line and only ended up having 6 players, they were perfect and sent us out as two threesomes and also gave me store credit for the other two times!!!! I have never had that happen. Love the course and the Cant say enough good about the complete staff from the pro shop to the starter to the cart girl. thanks again!!!! can't wait to go back

A great course
Had a wonderful time. The staff and introduction to the facility was very interesting and fun. The layout of the course and playability is great. The pub inside has good food also. A must play I will be back soon.

Royal Links
Played the course mid winter but it was in great condition and plays very nicely.
Can't say enough good things about the staff. Guys in the pro shop were awesome, the starter was a hoot and a great ambassador. Highly recommended. Looking forward to my next trip.

Fun
This is a fun course, the layout allows you to imagine golf at its roots but reading all the info stinks... When RL updates their technology and a machine reads to you and displays course layout it will give players a greater appreciation of the history that's been brought to us.
Know your clubs distances and you'll be fine!

Winter = True Links
Now that the Bermuda has died out the course is playing like a true links course. Firm and fast. Not a lot of players today so pace was excellent. 3 1/2 hour round. I've had other days here over 5 hours. Staff friendly and helpful. Cart girl available but overpriced. A few areas on the course need some TLC. Had to move my ball a few times out of rocks and gravel in the rough.
Thank you golfterry for your review and feedback of Royal Links Golf Club! We appreciate you taking the time to review our facility and we hope you will continue to visit us throughout the season. Please let us know if we can do anything for you in the future and we hope we see you again soon!
Stories on the course
Had a great day, taking a little extra time to read the history of each hole added to the game. This is a must play if you are in the area.
Thank you James for your review and feedback of Royal Links Golf Club. We are happy you enjoyed yourself as well as the brief history lessons of the holes and golf course. We appreciate the kind words and hope you will continue to visit us during your next golfing excursion.
Nice course but doesn't evoke the holes they are inspired by
Beautiful day - very nice course and recommend for sure - but maybe my expectations were too high as I didn't feel like I was playing the old courses of Scotland etc
Plaing in Great Britian without crossing the Atlantic
Great replica course with 18 holes replicating some of the best British Open holes. The rough is appropriately thick and ugly and the bunkers are deep. The staff go out of their way to make you feel welcomed and appreciated.
Very cool course
Played from the tips and this course gave me every challenge you could ask for. Tricky greens but very fair. Course is well maintained.
Great Golfing Experience
Enjoyed everything about this course. Will go back.
Condition of the course
Excellent course conditions.
Play early to get a round in less than 4 hrs.
If playing after 9am the pace was 5 hrs.
Would definitely play again
Royal Links is a Must Play
Of all the Vegas Golf Courses, Royal Links, which replicates 18 British Open Championship Golf Holes, including the 17th Road Hole at St. Andrews and the Postage Stamp Hole at Troon, is the most fun. Staff is super friendly, course in great shape and fun to play.
Slow Slow Slow Slow
Unbelieveably slow play. High handicappers playing from tees that are beyond their skill level creates backups as they are in the rough looking for their balls on almost every hole.
punched greens
I wish they advised that the greens were punched and sanded before making my booking…I would have played at a different location. The course is nice and overall in good shape…in no way does it play like a links course but it was fun and would have loved to been have been able to putt the ball and get a more true round.
British replica playing like a an Americna courses
The course is fine but it is green and plays slow and wet as if I were playing in Florida. I was expecting the course to be a links style. Hard and fast but this course is wet and slow. Not sure why the course set up this way with Las Vegas being in the desert. Please set up this course up to be hard and fast.
Home of golf
Very challenging course, unless you are a single digit HCP I would not keep score. I'm a 10 and I took a beating. It's a beautiful course with an amazing layout. The greens were a little dry but fairways (the few I found) were in great shape. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Bring lots of ball because even if you thought you landed on the fairway, balls do disappeared. If you like challenging courses this is it!, Fore!!
Thank you danrkato for your review and feedback of Royal Links Golf Club. We appreciate your comments so we can address certain issues on the course. Besides the pace of play on the back 9 we are very happy you had an enjoyable round. Please come back and see us again!
