Country Club of Hilton Head
About
The Country Club of Hilton Head rambles over a variety of terrain, including rolling, open expanses, pine and oak woodlands and freshwater ponds and marshlands. Each hole is distinctive, as a golfer must negotiate water hazards, contoured fairways, pot bunkers and sculpted bunkers, and grass hollows. This facility features constant elevation tees, landing areas and greens, as well as the only punch bowl-shaped green in the area. The Country Club of Hilton Head layout also features 3 doglegs, undulating and tiered greens and two par-5's that stretch more than 575 yards in length. An excellent, fair test of golf for all skill levels.

A Must Play!
Loved this place! Course conditions were excellent. Due to heavy morning rains, we understandably had cart path only in effect. Given my poor play this made for lots of walking yet we finished in exactly 4 hrs. All the staff was very friendly. I’d strongly recommend checking out CC of HH.
Hoping to Play
Last time I was on HHI, I want to play this course but it was private...I made a last minute reservation and what a treat. These are some of the smallest greens , I've ever played ....aka Harbour Town Golf Links.
It's on my list to play on my next trip......
Nice Layiut
Hilton Head CC is a good course to play with a nice layout. I think it’s a little pricey at over $100 a round. It doesn’t have gps on the carts. It is pretty wide open with no a lot of hazards. The staff is friendly .Remenber to tuck your shirt in lol Don’t worry there were no rangers on the course.
Great round of golf on the island
Golf course was in great shape. Would define play again.
Excellent Find
Best course in the area for the price! By far the best value, and after being on other courses on HHI I don't understand why they are charging so much more. Had a wonderful afternoon. Thank you!
Amazing Course for the Money
Haven't played Harbor Town, but I doubt it is worth an extra $150 compared to Country Club of Hilton Head. Get unlimited range balls for $7. Course conditions were great, fast/smooth greens, no burn spots in the grass that is common in courses this time of year. Friendly staff. I will def. play again on my next trip to HH. Highly recommend.
One of the best courses in Hilton Head!
If you can get this course for under $60, do it. This is one of the best courses on the island. It is a great test. One of the few courses where it really hurts to miss the fairway. Rough is thick and tough. It is a true Country Club so the amenities are terrific. Driving range is probably the best on the island. Course was in terrific shape.
Great Course - Staff Not Too Helpful
I have Played CCHH many times and I always like the course layout, the conditions and the challenge it presents.
Saturday afternoon tee time for $97 (with $7.for unlimited range balls). I love the course, but it is not a $100 course. It is definitely a $60 - $75 dollar course, but not a $100 course. Especially when it was 101 degree heat index and the course will not let you use a cooler for ice and water. We asked to have a cooler for ice and we were told due to Covid they do not do coolers. The five other courses we have played this week all gave and allowed coolers with ice. However, at CCHH there were rakes at every bunker as well as sand bottles on every cart. What about those for Covid?. Why can you not do coolers with ice if you are asking everyone to use rakes that others have used as well as use sand bottles on the carts which have not been sanitized which others also use? Does not make sense at all. How can you not give a cooler with ice when the heat index is 101 degrees?
On the positive side, I love the course layout and the course conditions are fantastic. The range and practice area are great. The greens were in great condition (smooth, quick and fun), as was the rest of the course from tee two green. A great variety of holes along with great scenery. The rough is very thick and long. If you are in the rough, it is a real challenge to get on the green in regulation (as it should be). I would encourage you to take the time to play, but make sure to take your own cooler with ice, especially during the summer when it is hot and humid!!!
Tremendous - Must Play!
I was able to get a "Hot-Rate" of $41 to play this course mid-week during a vacation to Hilton Head. I don't give away 5 stars easily, but this course definitely deserves it! The greens were in tremendous condition, as was the rest of the course from tee to green. A great variety of holes and beautiful scenery. I would encourage everyone to put this on their playlist for any trip to Hilton Head.
P.S.
I played the Fazio course at Palmetto Dunes two days prior and it warrants "1-star" as compared to the Country Club of Hilton Head. I paid more for their greens fee and the course was much less interesting, in worse condition, with the slowest greens I've ever putted on.
Privilege to play here.
It felt like a private club and I got to play for $42! They greeted me at my car to get my bag, and from the first moment I felt like a member. The practice facilities were in great shape with clear targets and the putting green was flawless. The rough is definitely a penalty but it was a fair test from the blue tees. The signature par five on the back heads straight into the marsh and I had a sense of timelessness, of old Hilton Head. Making birdie (526 yards) only made the moment sweeter. I played with two nice gentlemen and we all agreed it was a perfect day. Can’t wait to come back.
Privilege to play here.
The Country Club in Hilton Head is a semi private course. This simply means that many folks pay membership feeS to belong, whereas I had the privilege of playing the course for $42. A great value. Everything is in good shape and from the practice facility, the putting green, the quality of the cart and the overall facilities including the pro shop it was impressive. The signature hole on the back side, a par five heading straight into the marshes was worth the price of admission. I played the blue tees and it was a fair test. I can’t wait to come back.
Great track
I will play here again
Great course
Great range
Great staff
Great layout
Rough was tuff
Layout was excellent but the rough was 2” thick. Greens were recently punched but have recovered well. Overall course was in excellent shape.
