Country Club of Hilton Head

Course was in excellent condition - greens, fairways and tee boxes. Many doglegs and penalty areas, mainly water. Plus OB stakes are prominent. But fairways are wide so keeping it in play is not too hard. Played in 4 hours on an afternoon. Will definitely play again on next visit to HHI.

This course is in FANTASTIC shape right now. I have played this track at least 10x over the past 15yrs and have always liked the layout. However, it’s easily in the best shape I’ve ever seen right now. The fairways are full and lush, the rough is thick, and the greens are rolling smooth (probably 9+ on stimp which is fast for HHI). The pro shop, cart attendant, and pub staff were friendly and efficient. We even saw the Beer Cart a few times - which was welcome on a hot day. It felt like the pace was slow, but we finished in 4:10 with an extended stop after #9. Overall, a fantastic day on a very quality track. Highly recommend this course right now.

The whole course is like playing on carpet with the perfect cushion! You’ll need to play this course twice for redemption! Greens are fast and in excellent condition right now! Sand traps are plentiful and not for the weak at heart. Driving range accessible and well serviced with plenty of balls. One of the top beautiful courses of the five I’ve played on the Golden Isles.

My wife and I were paired with a wonderful couple who were members of CCHH . They were a joy to play with and were very helpful to us. The course was as enjoyable as I had remembered and the back nine is as scenic a nine holes as there is on the island . The golf course was in excellent condition and I would recommend the blue tees for a low handicapper as the white tees eliminate driver on many holes on the front nine. Great experience....highly recommend!

One of the best on Hilton Head. The greens were excellent - fast and true. The fairways are coming in nicely even with the cooler May weather. The layout is fun and challenging. No straight holes. Many interesting little slight doglegs. It is more open off the tee than most plantation courses. Check it out ... you will have a good time.

One of most enjoyable rounds I have played by myself in ages. Starter let me go early because there were so few golfers. Played fast. Course has no gimmicks - it is all right there in front of you but not easy. There were a lot of tough shots - but fun!

The course was in fantastic shape. The greens were quick and the fairways were beautiful. I’ve played here several times and never had a complaint about the conditions. I think the layout is a little boring on the front, but improves on the back. Well worth playing.

Pristine conditions and very friendly staff. The greens were so fast I had trouble holding them - even with my putter. They warned me beforehand and told me to get a feel for it on the practice green, which I did but I still added quite a few strokes as I watched the ball sail past the hole. The good thing is the greens were true and if I hit it right, the flag stick got in the way. Pace of play was great – under three hours. The threesome in front of me let me play through and the twosome in front of them moved along as fast as they could to keep me from getting too close. It may have been my NYC hat during this COVID-19 scare. I’ve already made another tee time.

Was very impressed by overall conditions of this course. Greens rolled true and fairly fast with a lot of holes challenging players with subtle doglegs that force good shot selection vs. just bombing away.

Check in was a little strange due to Corona precautions but understandable.

Will be back to play again.

Very pretty course...also kudos for the way they are cleaning carts and taking other measures to protect golfers from the Corona virus.

Real nice course. No overseeding done to the Bermuda grass so the fairway grass was still dormant and mostly brown but in good shape. Greens were very good.

Great track, nice scenery and good pace of play. Wish the grass wasn’t still dormant.

Lovely course and always in top shape. Practice facilities the best around altho range on mats after heavy rain. Course in good early season shape, needs a little warm weather to green up. Rough quite playable. Greens excellent.

Only "negative" the sand traps. Many had clearly been resanded after rains and will need a few days to settle and become more consistent. Obviously a huge effort by grounds crew to get everything up and running again.

Played in 4 hrs, will be back again soon.

Course is in nice shape and the greens a wick and true. Best we have played on the island. Bunkers a little hard but that may be due to the recent rain. Very nice golf course.

Excellent greens. Tees were a little worn but enjoyable layout. Used 50% off hot deal coupon. Good value at that price

Golfed after 2 days of rain - so it was Cart path only. Lots of wet spots out there. On a nice sunny day - this course would be awesome. Next year - for sure.

Enjoyed the golf course layout with elevated greens protected by generous bunkers. Challenging par threes.

Would like to play again.
