About
The course at the Wedgefield Golf & Country Club, although suitable for all golfers, is most appropriate for intermediate players. The affordably priced Wedgefield Golf Club used to be known as Rocket City and Cape Orlando. The course has a classic-Florida style layout with medium sized greens that are guarded by bunkers and fairways lined with cypress trees. There is water on the golf course but it is not a significant factor in the game. However, there is one hole, the par-3 sixth hole that is surrounded on three sides by water. Wedgefield Golf & Country Club, in addition to the course, has a chipping area and putting green as well as a golf school.

Golfer Reviews
a Day at Wedgefield
Unfortunately we had 2 playing companions who bailed on us so we played as a 2some. Followed a very slow 4some and the 2 behind us wouldn't join us. Made for an excruciating front 9. They went into the clubhouse at the turn so we could skip to 10 and the back was much better. Course needs some serious work with broken cart paths, spotty grass etc. Great layout though and could be so much better with some TLC. Sad day overall however as got back to my car and some jerk had backed into it and left the scene.
This course keeps improving
Overall the course is in good shape, greens are rolling true and fast, fairways are good (couple of rough spots).
Fun course to play, put it on your list.
Excellent course
Best value for your money. Greens were in amazing shape!
Worth playing
Played here for the first time. Had always heard the course was terrible. Course is definitely worth the play for 30-40$. Greens and fairways are in good shape. Driving range is a bit lacking. No ranger or starter. Self enforced pace of play.. Nice to not have to deal with all the extra sometimes. Just go play golf and not be bothered type of course. Could be some backups sometimes. But as 2 in middle of day Friday we played in 3hr 15’min. Enjoyed the course will be back
I like this course
this course might be kind of in the boonies for many but is just 30 minutes from me so I play there at least monthly...great greens, good carts, good warm up area, might be a bit long for some but certainly worth the trip if you are no the east side of Otown
Awesome greens
The course is in great condition considering the drought. The greens are fabulous and the bunkers are well maintained. Pace of play was excellent and it's a great bargain. Good test from 6400 yards. Great layout with many interesting holes. That part 3 over water is way tougher than a handicap of 14! Very good carts.
Haven’t played here in a while, pleasantly surprised and impressed. Greens in great /excellent condition….
Great Value!
The course is a great value for the cost. The greens are in great shape, the fairways are nice, there were some areas where the grass is thin and hard ,but for the majority of holes, more grass, than dirt/hard pan.
The tee boxes are in ok shape. The course doesn't have a ranger, so pace of place is at the discretion of the patrons on the course, hopefully the group in front of you are considerate and don't search too long for their balls and keep it moving.
WOW! Best I have ever seen Wedgefield
I haven't played here in a couple years because it had become a goat ranch. WOW what a facelift. The greens are the best I have ever seen them and the fairways were in very good shape. The only complaint I have was somehow a eightsome held up several people. I have never seen 8 playing before. The owner went out and talked to them and I don't believe that will happen again. The course really surprised me how nice they have made it. The y layout has always been great. Congratulations to the owner and grounds crew for a job well done.
Excellent design
Met a really nice fellow by the name of Robert on the practice putting green. He gave me a little course info. I don't think there was a hole that I didn't like. More than a few fun par fives. A good challenge from 6600 yd. Yes of course was a little dry but it hasn't rained. Nevertheless, the greens were spectacular. I really like the design of the course. Well placed bunkers. Played with a local regular by the name of david. It was an awesome day and got around in three and a half hours.
Dry conditions
We like this course, but like all other courses in central Florida, we need RAIN bad. Hopefully this weekend we get some. Fairways are hard and dry and greens are long to try and save them from the heat. Fingers crossed
