River Oaks Golf Club
About
River Oaks Golf Club stretches across more than 800 scenic acres along the Intracoastal Waterway. The Course begins with the shortest of the three nines and finishes with the longest. The final hole on the front nine presents one of the most interesting risk-reward opportunities on the golf course. You can aim for the right bunker for an open shot at the green or try a long drive down the left side for a short approach. River Oaks Golf Clubs' Otter nine has several challenges in store including mounding, strategically placed bunkers, and tricky water hazards.

A Great Place to Play
In theory, this is a great course, but there's a lot of work going on there right now that will bring it up to that standard;. Fairways are mostly very good. Greens are needing repair which is underway. There are a lot of places to lose your balls (Hole 9 was the worst). The carts are the best, with ball and club washers and even a cooler plus a rain cover. Restrooms are well-located. Staff try not to crowd golfers, but it happened anyway. We could not play the intended course, Fox, due to a group of 20 people right in front of us.
Needs Maintenance
I realize the Pandemic is causing terrible financial hardships on courses but the lack of maintenance will sour players in the future.
Otter &bear
Course was very wet due to 3 plus weeks of rain. Greens were rough
best deal
this is the best deal on the strand for golf never a diapointment greens could be faster played another coarse this week payed 75.00 was not worth 39.00 cant beat river oaks
Nice challenging course
Nice challenging golf course with lots of variety and water. Greens a little bit slow running around eight on the stemp meter but in good condition. This is another local golf with little restrictions cut off tee shirts Etc allowed . Yeks! We were stuck behind this foursome for the first four holes which made things very slow.. finally they let us through and we got done in less than 3 1/2 hours. This golf course has three nines with the Bear being the hardest of all three tight holes with dog legs and lots of water.
This is not a beginners golf course, great rate at $39, I would recommend if you are 15 handicap or less.
Good course
Course was great. Water in the bunkers but heavy rain the day before but not their fault.
First time out Bear/Otter
Nice condition, played in about 4 hours but at a good regular pace with little waiting and no body rushing from behind. Will play here again.
Fun round
Greens on the bear course weren’t the best and the same for the fairways on the otter course. Still a fun round on a decent course for the money.
