River Oaks Golf Club
About
River Oaks Golf Club stretches across more than 800 scenic acres along the Intracoastal Waterway. The Course begins with the shortest of the three nines and finishes with the longest. The final hole on the front nine presents one of the most interesting risk-reward opportunities on the golf course. You can aim for the right bunker for an open shot at the green or try a long drive down the left side for a short approach. River Oaks Golf Clubs' Otter nine has several challenges in store including mounding, strategically placed bunkers, and tricky water hazards.

Great day at River Oaks
This course was very busy when we arrived but staff did an excellent job of getting the groups off. Fairways were in very good shape and open considering the rainy winter weather. Greens were great. Would definitely play here again!
Good Time
Pretty much winter conditions for MB, but with all the rain course was in good shape. Carts ope for all but one hole. Greens fast and fairways in good shape. Traps were out of commission but to be expected. Would love to come back, great value.
It was a good day with a special couple I played with. The two groups in front of us were very slow and so it made for a slow round. It was wet due to recent rains but very playable. It is a nice course and well worth playing
Very wet course
Most fairways were very wet and soggy. Only played nine of eighteen because of weather and conditions. Should have been closed or reduced rate. I am handicapped and with carts only on pathways made for trying times coupled with the fact my wife and I are lousy golfers. Hate to be so critical but our outing was painful.
Regards, Phil
Good Day
The condition of the course was in satisfactory shape. The greens were in excellent condition at this time of year. The course was very crowded and I thought the staff handle the crowd in a sufficient manner.
all around fun course from tee box to green
multiple tee boxes to choose from. tee boxes in good shape. fairways in great shape with good roll. greens well manicured with decent speed. most important the areas 20 to 30 yards were firm and bump and runs were available. this course is well worth playing. the rough areas may not look so good BUT the actual fairways and greens and the green fringes were very playable and fair. I played bear and wolf in 35 to 40 mile winds and played in 2 hr. 45 min.
Busy busy
Course is wet ,,and it had not rained in days,, so that is questionable, but the greens are perfectly groomed,, three nines. Helped the pace but still four and half hours,,
Bill from Akron
I scheduled an afternoon T time and the course was crowded. The staff was friendly and very efficient given the number of golfers. The course was in very good condition the greens were receptive and well maintained. The T boxes and fairways were well manicured. The only concern was pace of play, which was expected given the number of golfers on the course. I would suggest booking an early T time, or plan for a 5 hour round.
We keep returning
River Oaks is a fun course to play. It is usually in good condition and greens run true although they have some challenging undulations. Fairways are generally good allowing play as the ball lies. The course is "lady friendly" for the most part which keeps my favorite golf partner (my wife) wanting to return.
A good day
The course is very wet and most shots will plug in the fairway. The layout is good and the greens track well. The course could use some TLC but overall it was good value for the money.
Great for the money
Great value for the money. Course was in great shape for the winter.
2020 Debut
After escaping Canada's winter, River Oaks was a great way to kick off a new decade. The course is in very good condition and is enjoyed by my wife since it is generally "lady friendly". Fairways were overseeded, pleasant visually and easy to hit from. Overall, River Oaks is a nice golfing experience.
Great Value and close if in South end of Myrtle
Played there 7 times in last 3 weeks. Conditions were very good generally speaking. A little wet but that was to be expected. Staff were very accommodating and friendly. Enjoyed playing bear, fox and osprey in that order. Pace of play was excellent as it wasn’t super busy at this time of year. Fees were very good using Golfnow. Bang for the buck tough to beat.
Great location
The course is straight forward and not tricked up. They had just over seeded but it was still very playable. One of the most exciting cart bridges anywhere adds to the charm and fun. The course is near the Jetport, Waccama Outlets, and the beach resorts. The staff is friendly and they grill burgers, hot dogs etc out under the covered patio. Beer is cold and it’s a nice place to sit and unwind after your round. It’s not as dramatic as some of the “name” courses but you can play in four hours and have an enjoyable round.
Fall golf at River Oaks
The starter was. a riot. He told us that there was a porta John on the third hole of the Fox course but forgot to tell us there was no more. Not good for an old guy in mixed company. The greens were slow making putts challenging. Overall we had a nice afternoon with the couple we were matched with. Darkness comes quick this time of year so starting before 12:30 is a must.
