River Oaks Golf Club
About
River Oaks Golf Club stretches across more than 800 scenic acres along the Intracoastal Waterway. The Course begins with the shortest of the three nines and finishes with the longest. The final hole on the front nine presents one of the most interesting risk-reward opportunities on the golf course. You can aim for the right bunker for an open shot at the green or try a long drive down the left side for a short approach. River Oaks Golf Clubs' Otter nine has several challenges in store including mounding, strategically placed bunkers, and tricky water hazards.

Amazing conditions!!!
The course is in tip top shape. I’m on vacation from Orlando FL and play once a week at numerous courses and this course compared to some of the top rated courses is unbelievable. Perfect greens though they played slower than I’m use to. Fairways perfectly manicured and tee boxes were great. I’ve played here 3-4 times a year for the past 10 years and haven’t seen the course in such nice shape. I will be back tomorrow!!!
Great Course!
The hospitality was great. The course was in great condition and overall a great experience! If you are in Myrtle Beach area this is the first course I would recommend.

Course was brown but played well.
Greens were fast 9am.
Great course but extra fees!
First time at this course. Fairways and greens were in good condition! Most of the cart paths were in okay condition. Charged an extra cart fee to have my mom ride with me just for fun....kind of lame! Said not to have your own cooler, drinks or snacks. Seems as though they are nickel and dime you in places...hopefully to pay for the repaving of cart paths on “Bear” course. However, the marshall did send us over there because the other courses were backed up, which was very kind!
Nice Course!!
What makes this course so nice to play at is the staff. Soon as you pull up, Alex the attendant welcomes you. He is very friendly and courteous. The counter people are always friendly and professional.
Challenging but playable
Bunkers wet, some even had standing water although there was rain the day before. Greens in good shape, only a few bare spots. Starter a nd check in person very nice.
Wonderful Day at River Oaks
Conditions were very good, except maybe some of the greens could have been in a better condition. Always a great time.
Spring conditions but very enjoyable.
We thoroughly enjoyed our round at River Oaks. We had a conflict that caused us to have to delay our tee off and the Pro Shop staff were very accommodating in re-booking our tee time. We played the first 18 of the 27 and enjoyed the layout. Will definitely return the next time we are in the area.
My Favourite in Myrtle Beach
We like this course! It’s well managed and organized; the starters and marshals are friendly and courteous and do a good job keeping the pace of play.
The carts are equipped with both ball and club cleaners —much appreciated in wet weather.
The course has 3 nines: Fox, Otter and Bear; water comes in to play on each so there’s plenty of opportunity to practice your course management.
Teaching Pro
The course was nice and properly valued. It was raining off and on, but the course played okay.
