About
Whirlwind Golf Club features 36 holes across 242 acres. Wild horses and native beasts roam the landscape - so don't let them drag you away. While just 12 miles from the metropolis of Phoenix, Whirlwind Golf Club's Cattail Course takes golfers to a secluded and scenic environment, where desert tranquility and beauty is a silent playing partner throughout.
Gary Panks designed the courses at Whirlwind Golf Club. The par-72 Cattail measures 7,222 yards and beings on Arrow Shot, a par-4 413 yarder; the South Mountain Range's canyons will guide you, but shoot straight. Things get long on Two Mesquites, the second hole, a par-5 517 yarder, which does feature Mesquites, a staple for the Gila River Indian Community, used in construction, medicine and food.
Finish up on Last Hole, a par-4 450 yarder that offers a good test to close on, as it is the course's most demanding to drive.

Excellent course
Conditions were great, scenery was tremendous, will be back to play these courses again.
Great Course with Awesome Amenities
Fairways were like carpet. Green were like linoleum. Great clubhouse.
Pace of play slowed at the end but overall great experience.
Enjoyable day on Cattail
We had a great round of golf. Nice layout, greens rolled great, fresh water and clean restrooms on the course. 4 hour 15 minute round could have been faster, but it didn’t feel particularly slow. Beautiful sunny day on a quality track.
Cattail Teview
Everything about the course was excellent with the exception of the non notification from Golf Now about the 2 hour frost delay. Would have been nice to know so we didn't have to sit around for 2 hours. You can only hit so many balls on the range.
Solid Course in Great Condition
I was very impressed with the Cattail course. Good challenge and excellent conditions. Great practice area. Can't wait to try out Devils Claw as well!
Disappointed
We waited on every shot and never saw a Marshall the entire day . I’ve played here before and it was never this slow.
Great course
With the exception of one green that needs to be blown up, this course is one of the next values in the area. Great course, conditions, staff is excellent. Would play both Whirlwind courses regularly if I lived here.
Fantastic Arizona Golf
Whirlwind has 2 fantastic courses always in supreme condition. Practice facilities are top drawer. Staff are friendly and attentive. Recommend to anyone to play!
