About
Candler Hills Golf Club in Ocala was designed by Florida native Gordon G. Lewis. In a state that has no shortage of golf courses, Candler Hills manages to stand out. The layout offers plenty of length at 7,233 yards from the back tees. The 662-yard fourth hole is the longest par 5 in Florida. There are no water hazards on the golf course, but what it lacks in water it more than makes up for in sand. Strategically placed traps line the fairways and greens. The layout has some challenging holes but it's fair and playable for all skill levels. Candler Hills G.C. is also well known for its extensive practice facility, which has a range with target greens placed at different yardages and a short-game area with a practice bunker and undulating green.

Great course, different tees make it very interesting. Conditions very good. Highly recommended
A well tended course with GREAT Staff!
I've played here several times this season and this round was truly a pleasure. The Pro Shop staff and fellows who work the carts, bag drop and Starter are all very friendly.
The course is kept in impeccable shape and the carts are stocked with sand/seed to fill the divots made. Traps were raked clean (I may have visited a couple). There are restrooms located along the course, clean and accessible with a code given to each player prior to the round. Although I did not visit the driving range this time it is the same as the course well kept and well run!
Greatly cared for course!
I booked a single and was lucky enough to be matched up with two gentlemen to play with named Guy and Mike. They play regularly and new the course extremely well. Not only made me feel welcome but also were willing to give me guidance about where to land the ball, pin position, and overall course layout and etiquette. (Don't go into someone's back yard to retrieve a runaway ball). It was a great pleasure to play there. It started from the moment I arrived with a very warm greeting in the Pro-shop and ended at the bag drop as I loaded to leave when the staff thanked me for coming. Gosh what a great place!
Course in OK shape. Very playable. Greens great and quick. Fairways still not back from summer grooming. Still does not deter from being a very good golf course. Very enjoyable day. Windy but still fair.
Got paired with two members who were very friendly and helpful throughout the round. Greens are in great shape but fairways were a tad beat up. They both expressed it has taken a beating this year and is going to be fixed up in the coming weeks.

Definitely recommend. Layout very good. Only downfall pace of play........

Greens in excellent condition. Multi ungelated. Very fast greens. You will be hitting a lot of downhill putts. Lots & lots of sandtrap. They have a 662 yd par 5 from the tips. Enjoyed it.
I'll do it again
Very nice course, greens while well kept, were uneven because of the foot traffic (1350 tee time). Staff were super nice. Pace of play was a problem, however it was mid afternoon when we teed off. Next time we will get an earlier tee time.
