About
Candler Hills Golf Club in Ocala was designed by Florida native Gordon G. Lewis. In a state that has no shortage of golf courses, Candler Hills manages to stand out. The layout offers plenty of length at 7,233 yards from the back tees. The 662-yard fourth hole is the longest par 5 in Florida. There are no water hazards on the golf course, but what it lacks in water it more than makes up for in sand. Strategically placed traps line the fairways and greens. The layout has some challenging holes but it's fair and playable for all skill levels. Candler Hills G.C. is also well known for its extensive practice facility, which has a range with target greens placed at different yardages and a short-game area with a practice bunker and undulating green.

The condition of the greens were excellent. Very fast.
pace of play was 3:45 for a foursome. Excellent.

Very enjoyable course in great shape highly recommend
This course was beautiful
First time being down in Ocala. and I heard from the locals that this course was great. As a person from Michigan, this was very fun course to play for my first time in Florida. I really enjoyed it and want to play again before I head back. The greens were incredibly fast so it took some getting used to.
Great value
Had the course to ourselves on the front nine. Caught up to a foursome on 14 but being almost finished there was little hold up. Friendly marshals and cart girl. Excellent day and round. Green have lots of slope and speed. Be back.
Great course
Always great condition. Super layout. If u don't play this course u don't like golf. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Nice Florida Course with Minimal Trouble
This course was in good shape from tee to green. Traps had very nice white sand. Fairways are ultra generous which is typical for the type of golfers that frequent these Florida courses (higher handicap, helps speed up play). Greens rolled very nicely, not super fast but quick enough. Plenty of drinking water on the course which is good for hot days. Great deal for the price I paid. Good warmup round for other Florida rounds to come in the next 2 weeks.
Course in great shape. Fun and challenging. Teamed up with good people. All in all a good day.

My wife and I love this course it’s our favorite one to play here in Ocala . Played with two other golfers very nice Gentlemen .Truly enjoyed our round

Good shape, greens slower than normal. Bunkers are a lil form right now. Common this time of year. Staff is there for you! Had a great time!
Great course
Candler Hills has very good practice facilities, friendly staff, and a good course layout. The course requires that you hit good golf shots, but you can also get out of trouble nicely. The greens roll true and at a good pace. This is one of my favorite courses in Ocala.
Poured! Course stayed playable!
Great staff, very helpful and knowledgeable. I read a previous review were someone dissed the staff for being too aware. That's what a good player wants! Keep the pace up, let you know of any quirks, and be kind and approachable. 100% rating from me. The design is great, and it can play very long! Worth a return visit!

Always in good condition and the rangers are great. One of my favorite courses in Marion County
Staff has issues with golf now members
If the course is empty, the head pro will not let golf now Members off early no matter what, so take your time, and don't let Members play through
Great course. Good layout in great shape. Fun place to play. Good company. All around great hot deal.
