About
Candler Hills Golf Club in Ocala was designed by Florida native Gordon G. Lewis. In a state that has no shortage of golf courses, Candler Hills manages to stand out. The layout offers plenty of length at 7,233 yards from the back tees. The 662-yard fourth hole is the longest par 5 in Florida. There are no water hazards on the golf course, but what it lacks in water it more than makes up for in sand. Strategically placed traps line the fairways and greens. The layout has some challenging holes but it's fair and playable for all skill levels. Candler Hills G.C. is also well known for its extensive practice facility, which has a range with target greens placed at different yardages and a short-game area with a practice bunker and undulating green.

First rate experience
The course was in great shape and my wife and I played in 3 1/2 hours. Nothing better than playing a wonderful course on a beautiful sunny afternoon.
If your under 70 don’t go here!
I never write reviews unless I have a very bad experience. Most courses in the central Florida/North Florida area are great. However because this is a semi-private course they follow you to the extent it almost feels like they are keeping tabs on you. When your being followed you cannot play your best. The course is great. Staff is very VERY unprofessional. Almost intimidating if your not a “member”. Not worth it go to Stone Creek less than two mikes away where they let you play your game and don’t act like snobby white wasps. I do not recommend anyone golfing here even though the course is fun the staff and environment ruins it.

Great course always in good condition with friendly staff. Nic bar and restaurant available after the round.
Great course, great price
Arguably the best public course in Ocala area. The weather was windy for most of the round and temperature was moderate. No one was in front of us or behind us until the 16th hole. Course was in fine shape, could not have asked for more at this time oh the year in Central Florida. We had a wonderful time.

Wide fairways
Decent course, well maintained, good value for $. However, fairways are abnormally wide and greens are huge, so it becomes kind of mundane since the challenge starts to fade. To play it once is fine but could not see playing it on regular basis.

Course in great shape as usual rangers are always friendly and helpful . Always meet interesting people when I play here

Great course well maintained
Played an early afternoon round, there several groups in front of us, however the wait was not long. Staff is very friendly and heloful. Looking forward to next round. After wards a nice cold beer the on site bar was the perfect way to end a good day of golf.
