Candler Hills Golf Club

Course is in excellent condition tee to greens. Very wide and forgiving fairways. Greens in very good condition but some were rolling a little slow. A lot of undulations on most greens. Very nice layout and fun holes to play. A lot of construction going on adjacent to course which distracted the surroundings a little.

From beginning to end, the staff was super friendly and accommodating. Course was in amazing shape too. Great day of golf!

Every now and then you get paired up with some real characters. My cartmate was great- the other twosome were a challenge.

11:32 tee time and the heat index was 106!! It’s been 5 hours and I’m still feeling the affects! Not courses fault as they have many places to get water plus rangers kept coming around with ice and water. Still one of my favorite courses in the area.

Fathers Day Sunday. They did a promotion for $35 you get the round plus a bucket. Course was in incredible shape. The greens ran true and looked fake they were so nice. For some odd reason the 18th green was the ONLY troubled spot on the entire course!!! No big deal. Not a thin lie on the entire course. This is my favorite course around and is generally out of my budget to play on a regulars basis but if I could afford it I would play it all the time.

Great track in excellent shape. Greens consistent and well groomed. High praise for all aspects of the operation with the exception of the starter and marshal. Abrupt and rude. Attitude needs significant adjustment. Upon arriving at the tee box early was informed that we were early and would crowd the area. Instructed to return to the cart area and not return until 10 minutes prior to our tee time. Guess some people let a little authority and responsibility go to their head. Showing some class and respect to guests is a good start.

We were looking forward to our return visit today since we enjoyed it so much the last time. The fairways and greens, with the exception of just a couple of greens were great. The greens looked fast but really weren’t. The held a properly struck shot. The greeter at the bag drop was nice and cordial as was the pro shop staff. We ran into a foursome of members on the 4th home and as a twosome we were pushing up behind them for 8 holes before they finally let us through. We had waited on every shot til that time. While we played in 3.5 hours, we might have might have made it in under 3 if not for this group. There was nobody in front of them for several holes. We were told there was a beverage/snack cart out but we only saw it once. If we lived in Ocala we might just join the club but for now we will continue to make it one of our destination courses.
