About
Candler Hills Golf Club in Ocala was designed by Florida native Gordon G. Lewis. In a state that has no shortage of golf courses, Candler Hills manages to stand out. The layout offers plenty of length at 7,233 yards from the back tees. The 662-yard fourth hole is the longest par 5 in Florida. There are no water hazards on the golf course, but what it lacks in water it more than makes up for in sand. Strategically placed traps line the fairways and greens. The layout has some challenging holes but it's fair and playable for all skill levels. Candler Hills G.C. is also well known for its extensive practice facility, which has a range with target greens placed at different yardages and a short-game area with a practice bunker and undulating green.

All was good: course condition, layout, pace of play, helpful staff, and a good value.

I would have given this course a 5 star rating if it weren't for a number of thin spots in the fairways.

Nice course in very good condition
This course has very generous fairways and very few penalty areas so is very playable. The layout is simple and straightforward without any memorable holes.
The greens were in excellent shape and rolled very well with many sloping areas making this the most challenging aspect of the course.

Worth playing
I would have rated this course higher if it wasn’t for the conditions of their fairways, they have a problem with a weed type grass that is taking over the fairways, it is something that has been let go and now I think it is too late to rectify, other than that the course is in good shape and fun to play.
Great fairways
great course. I’m especially impressed with the fairways that are very plush and allow for fairway woods to be comfortably hit. Overall an A rating!!
great course. great conditions and perfect weather. Had good people to play with. Two of them were excellent golfers. Enjoyed it very much.
Well maintained course with some challenging holes
Golfed today with friends and was a great day all the way around, weather, great course conditions, bunkers in well maintained condition for those who happened to get in them, greens in great shape and course play was excellent! Not a thing to complain about. Was a great day of golf.
well managed, staff was friendly.Course was in good shape.Greens extremely fast, if putting above hole could not stop .Would play again, well worth the money.
Fairways were great
Played this course for the first time and I was very pleased, fairways looked great! A lot of sand bunkers for golfers to hit into which slowed pace a little. Overall good experience
Excellent shape
IG&CC has it figured out. No matter what time of the year, you can count on great Greens and better than average Fairways. A few of their Tee Boxes needed work and they are in the process of fixing them now (a couple of temp Tees, but not an issue). The Bunkers have been worked and are in good shape as well.
Great Rate with Hot Deal
This course is one of the best in the area their price reflects that. However if you can get a Hot Deal that can work into your schedule it is a bargain. Course was in good shape the fairways were a little patchy in places and the greens were mowed very tight making them extremely fast but well worth the money. Only wish this course offered more Reduced Rates or Specials

Amazing. 6" rain on Friday and nearly perfect on Sunday. Traps were a bit firm, I know, I tried all of them.
