Bear Creek Golf Complex - Bear Course
About
The Bear Course is one of two courses at the Bear Creek Golf Complex; it is a championship-length course while the other, the Cub Course, is an executive length course. The Bear Course is an inland, links-style course with rolling fairways and well-manicured greens. Strategically placed bunkers situated throughout the course add some challenge to the course. A round of golf on this course can be played in less than four hours. The Bear Creek Golf Complex, in addition to the two courses, also offers a full grass driving range, two putting greens, and a short game area with a bunker.

Thought it was a new course
We thought this was a new course. Fairways had either grass or hard dirt. The greens looked nice. They were the slowest I played in the Phoenix area. Literally I have not played greens this slow before. We asked the attendant how long the course was here and he said about 20 years. The greens and fairways looked like the course was in its first or second year. We would of understood then. Not much landscaping in the desert areas or shade by the tee blocks. That was our second clue if it were a new course. Range balls were not included in the price. The layout was nice and staff were super friendly.
Very nice
layout is good and its open
also all the staff were very nice
Sunday Golf
Good day, course on good shape for this time of year,. Good pace of play and staff was excellent
The course was great
There were a few fairways that were pretty rough but look like their being worked on. Overall the condition was pretty good for a public course. I’d definitely play it again. Much better condition than their Cub course which I played last week.
Nice course with decent fairways and greens.
This is my second time golfing at Bear Creek. My first time was a few years ago and I can say that the course seemed to be in much better shape than I remembered it. The fairways and greens were in pretty decent shape and the fairways were long and open, which is great for a beginner like myself. My wife and I had a great time here and will return. Also, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
Great Layout and Nice staff
The Bear Creek layout has a number of blind tee shots. Some of the shorter Par 4's offer great risk reward options from the tee.
A number of fairways had dead spots and we had to improve our lie in the fairway more then once.
Pace of play
Course was in good command greens putted true.
Fairways had some brown spot but still playable.
Just over 3 hours and finished...
The fairways are in poor shape, it might get really ugly over the summer.
Not worth the money
50% grass 50% dirt. It’s flooded with field mice that try to commit suicide. The greens were poor and still punched. This course was the goat of goat ranches
Not at its Best
I’ve played here a few times and seen the course in much better shape. Looks like they are transitioning from winter to summer grass and have some work to do. Greens are inconsistent and there are lots of baked mud, hard pan lies in the fairways. The course is usually in much better shape. They do look to be offering special rates right now, so still good value. Just don’t expect to see the course in peak form for a while.
Pace of Play
Pace wof play was excellent, course was in very good shapeN. Greens were in good condition and putted well.
