The Classic Club
About
On the Classic Club's scenic landscape, golfers will find a wide variety of trees including olive trees, towering pines, and California pepper, but unlike the many other golf courses in Palm Springs, there isn't a single palm tree. The Classic Club opened in 2006 to much acclaim and has since garnered a following amongst locals and visitors. Formerly a host site for the Bob Hope Classic, the challenging layout has an interesting mix of tour-worthy holes including intimidating par 3s balanced by reachable par-5s and short par-4s. Water hazards come into play on 13 holes. The back nine begins with a memorable stretch of holes. The par-4 10th is a tight driving hole with an elevated green and the 11th hole requires a shot over water. The stretch ends with the par-3 12th, which also plays over water to a well protected green.

weather
Wind was horrendous/ If any sign of wind do not play this course
Challenging and fun
Beautiful course with wonderful overall shaping of what was once barren desert. Nice mix of holes that challenge every skill level. Course is not overdone with too much water, but just enough to have strategic value. Very nice use of several tree species and other plants that hide the fact you play in a desert environment.
Excellent golf course
Greens fast but not unfair. No impossible pin placements. Great practice facility. Tee boxes for very desired difficulty and remained at that level throughout round.. Only complaint was sloping fairways toward water hazards with no high rough to catch @slightly misguided tee shots.. The fairways are very generously wide that said. Overall golf is getting too expensive as it is now corporate profit directed. I consider it a splurge not a regular go to course for my budget.
can't wait to go back!
Best course I've played in the Palm Desert/Springs area. By far my favorite and I'd play it again tomorrow. The greens were absolutely perfect and the course was as well. It's challenging but fair once you know what to expect. Winds can make it really tough but that's golf in the Desert!
PLAY THIS COURSE
Exceptional golf. Avoid playing on a windy day. Greens ran at 10+. This place is a bargain considering the quality of the course.
Look no further than this gem in the desert
Came to palm springs with no rounds booked. Scoured the internet for reviews of courses, and found this one with some pretty decent reviews. The reviews didn't do it justice. This course was pure, not a blade of grass out of place. Challenging, engaging, but beautiful. The views and course layout made for the easiest 10 out of 10 I could give. I will be back and will play again. You cant miss this course.
Great course conditions but a tough layout and wind made the play VERY slow. A 5 hour round is not what we are used to here in the desert. Apparently there was a college team playing ahead of us. They all think they are pros and play as slow as the pros or slower!
The best course in Palm Springs
I played several top courses in Palm Springs, and this the best course in my oppinion. The course condition tee box, fairway, green, even the rough areas are very well maintained. They know how to make their guests feel welcomed from water bottles, towels both we and dry and food vouchers. I will definitely play this course again.
Jewel in Palm Springs area
Stunning course, full of details like all Troon courses. Difficult but fun and in perfect shape
