The Classic Club

The course has a beautiful setting, is on a good property with nice movement and elevation. It has good variety of length and direction. The greens have nice slope and some ridges and undulation. Water is in play an a number of holes but otherwise the playing corridors are fairly wide. The course is not walkable due to long distances from many greens to tees. There are some areas that look manufactured, particularly the waterfalls, but it is all nicely done. The bunkers have a relatively hard sand. The course conditions were very good and the wind was strong the day I played. It is a terrific course and just below a 5 star level.

Very professional staff everywhere. I great challenging course with a lot of water and sand! Take plenty of balls but it will be a great golfing day. Be sure to make a reservation ahead of time at Bellatrix restaurant!

Had a good - but challenging round on the Classic Course. It’s in great condition - some tricky fairways with quite a bit of water in play. Beautiful scenery with the mountains all around. Nicest - informative starter ever !!! Excellent golf carts and good selections in the pro shop for ladies (sorry did not look at the mens). Enjoyed a good lunch in their beautiful clubhouse - highly recommend playing The Classic.

Absolutely professionally run. From the time you drive up to the time you leave you are treated great. Course was in great shape. Played a round in 4 hours and it was busy. This is a must stop for all golfers!!

I was in the Palm Springs area for a week and this was far and away the best I played. Very organized staff and the coarse was in great shape. Go if you can!

I have played several tournaments at The Classic Club. It is a very challenging layout, especially when windy, however a fair layout. I do enjoy playing there overall.

It plays slow however; a big contributor to the slow play is they place the red penalty area lines AT THE BOTTOM of long, steep banks. It is automatic that your dropped ball will roll into the water. Since it is a tournament you have no choice but to drop 2 balls then ultimately place the ball. There is a significant risk the placed ball will roll into the water too, incurring additional penalties. On top of that, the best the golfer can do is chip the ball back into the fairway because the bank is so steep. There is zero chance of being able to advance the ball. WAY too penal and therefore more slowness.

Their penalty area markings are NOT in compliance with USGA guidance. USGA says the line should be at the top of the bank. Fortunately the marking is correct for the 18th, but they should mark the whole course that way.

They have been advised of this over the years but don't fix it. I don't understand it.

Course is in excellent condition with tons of water and sand but a great challenge and a super friendly and helpful starter named Clarence. Friendly staff everywhere and Bellatrix restaurant is superb. Make a reservation ahead of time though!

The Classic Club is terrific - lush, well maintained and a delight to play. It was a step up from many of the other courses in the area in terms of conditions, pace of play and amenities. A pleasure!

Nice course that is very fair. Hit good shots and get good results no gimmicks like some courses

Excellent conditions though greens were hard as rock and need more moisture, other then that great overall layout and conditions.

Enjoyed every minute. Have always loved the layout. Got round in 415..

The Grill was limited for apres golf. Wine in cans doesn’t work for me and poor selection of beer.

every hole is challenging and fair. Carefully select the tees you play from and all levels of golfer will find excellent playing conditions and challenges here. Lush fairways and greens that hold. Delightful elevation changes throughout the course, surprising but wonderfully interesting to play.. I'lve played a lot in the valley but never at CC before. My new favorite. Steep green fees but well worth it. Great practice facilities too. Clubhouse is stunning. Come early, play well, stay late!
