The Classic Club
About
On the Classic Club's scenic landscape, golfers will find a wide variety of trees including olive trees, towering pines, and California pepper, but unlike the many other golf courses in Palm Springs, there isn't a single palm tree. The Classic Club opened in 2006 to much acclaim and has since garnered a following amongst locals and visitors. Formerly a host site for the Bob Hope Classic, the challenging layout has an interesting mix of tour-worthy holes including intimidating par 3s balanced by reachable par-5s and short par-4s. Water hazards come into play on 13 holes. The back nine begins with a memorable stretch of holes. The par-4 10th is a tight driving hole with an elevated green and the 11th hole requires a shot over water. The stretch ends with the par-3 12th, which also plays over water to a well protected green.

This is a fun course with more then one signature hole.
This is a fun course with more then one signature hole. I will defiantly play here again.
Nice and Challenging Course but too windy
This course was beautiful but unfortunately it is located in a wind tunnel. Since it is just north of the I-10 freeway next to Thousand Palms, the wind can really blow and it did that morning. Many of the trees lean to the East since the hard winds come out of the West and this is a tale tale sign that you get a lot of wind plus the wind turbine farm is located about 5 miles due west of the course. We complained about the winds and their location (wind tunnel) the staffer tried to say it always blows in the desert. Well not if you head to the south in the Coachella Valley. We went to Indian Springs later that day and played another 18 holes and virtually no wind.
Classic Club
Nice golf course, open no houses and requires experienced players. Not a course for high handicaps or beginners!
Be ready with your "A" game
Required you to be a shot maker with good course management. Great rewards for risk takers but you pay for a poorly played shot. Greens are quick and chipping requires the deft touch. Be wary of sucker pins. Wind adds another exciting challenge. Better to play it long then be short.
Wonderful round of golf!
We arrived early for our round, and were allowed to tee off when ready. Course was sin great condition. Beautifully manicured fairways and greens. Pace of play was just over 3 hours.
Only work needed was in traps. There was t enough sand. Holes were challenging and beautiful. Thanks for a great day.
Excellent Championship Course
This was my first time at Classic Club. Staff was very friendly. Course was in excellent condition. Green were very slick as they just had a U.S. Open qualifier. This is players course, not a resort course. Very challenging. Bring you A game.
A good test of golf.
Liked the course. Well layed out with bunkers guarding greens and water to consider on some holes. Made you think. Good practice area. Did not like the greens. Like putting on packed dirt. No easy reading of the speed or break. Played another course the following day that had grass on the greens, much more fun.
Won't be disappointed!
I'd heard positive reviews of this course every time I have visited Palm Springs but this was my first opportunity to play it. YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED! This is a great course! Played it the same day as US Open qualifiers. Greens were fast and true. Love the design. I'll be a returning customer as well!

Excellent all round for myself and friends I played with. Weather great, course condition very good . A very playable course .
A Tuscan Beauty
A very nice and challenging track in wonderful shape overall. Greens were firm and held if you hit the right spots, but punished you (as did some fairways) if you ventured to close to slopes leading to the many water hazards (which were quite attractive, BTW). Bunkers were a bit packed and pin placements had a few compound breaks. I would certainly want to play the course again, especially when the winds were less than the 20 MPH we faced. Had lunch at the club's Bellatrix restaurant terrace twice during the week and enjoyed the staff, meals and views. Go there!
Top notch all the way
Outstanding facility. Course was in excellent condition! Can be a bit windy but that adds a new challenge to the experience.
Will definitely come back!!!
Classic Club
Everything was in perfect conditions
Tough greens to hold
Can be windy at times
Played this course years ago did not remember that there was so much water in play
Classic Club Great As Always
I always enjoy this course and was not disappointed this time. Had a 11:10 tee time as a twosome and were paired up with another twosome. Had a great day and a round at about 4.25 hours. The course was not in as pristine condition as I had remembered it from a couple of years ago, but this was later in the season which has been very warm. Love this place.
Great greens
The overall experince was fantastic, lots of water, and greens are like table tops and fast!! Great golf course i see why the PGA Tour played here!!
Can't wait to play again
Course was in beautiful condition. Challenging. Not a course for beginners.
Tough but fun Palmer Track
First, like the other PS course I played the staff were excellent. Great practice/warm up areas. Very fun track, but make sure you stay on the opposite side of the fairway from any water. Otherwise your ball is rolling down to the water. My deal came with a voucher for food, so had a burger and beer in the restaurant after, and the meal was great. I would go back for sure.
One of our Favorites
Two couples 60's golf each year in PS.Golfed here last year and put it on our schedule twice in our month long stay-Booked through discount at $139 on higher end but geat value with $15.00 voucher for 19th hole, golf towel, course yardage book and other nice touches
Day we golfed offerred a box of ProV'1's for $26.00-great deal-bought some clothees here last year at a decent price-good quality.
Challenging course with a lot of variety-winds can be a factor some days-you won't be disappointed
beware of the bunkers
Staff exceptionally helpful & friendly. Greens are true, and fairly well kept in spite of the traffic (although it would help if everyone repaired their divots). Fairways also in good condition BUT the bunkers are so thin its ridiculous. No depth at all, leaving one with a difficult shot trying to judge how to hit out of a green side bunker. They could all use a few truckloads of sand. hopefully they will take the time this summer to remedy this one aspect of the course that is severely lacking. Only other issue is pace of play - they host a lot of tournaments, and if you get put behind one, it can easily be a 5 - 6 hr round. They should post these events on their website.
The classic club is a classic.
The course was in great shape, but as usual in palm spring area the greens are hard to hold. I would definately play the course again. The staff were as nice as any place I have played.
