About
Players of all abilities will enjoy Cimarrone Golf Club's par-72, 6,891-yard championship layout. The golf course, often referred to as "The Wild One" because of its intriguing play, opened in 1988.
Designed by David Postlethwait, Cimarrone's manicured course conditions and challenging design provide a fun, player-friendly experience for players of all abilities. Beginners will enjoy Cimarrone's well-defined fairways and magnificent greens. Advanced players will appreciate numerous risk-reward opportunities provided by strategically placed bunkers and a water or marsh feature on every hole. A total of 17 lakes surround the golf course.
Cimarrone Golf Club, which has a rating of 72.7 a slope rating of 132, has been selected as one of the top 50 courses in Florida and was given four stars out of five by Golf Digest.

Better every time
Greens are coming in nice from the damage earlier in the year. Fairways were in good shape as well as most tee boxes. Overall the course was in pretty good shape. Reviews saying it is terrible are have to be from people that don't play much or from "golf snobs" (we all know one or two). Will definitely be back.
interesting, challenging golfcourse,
the new owner has done a good job. I was here one year ago and the maintenance was not sufficient related to the greenfly.
Right now the course was in a very good shape, the greens after overfeeding were a little slow, but ok. staff was friendly. I will come back.
New owners know how to run a course
Played this course many times, and through the years it has had some ups and downs. The new owner has done the proper maintenance and brought the greens back to life. He’s completely replaced fairways that needed it and I was impressed overall. I typically play a private course and this met my expectations and then some. If you’ve had a negative experience here in the past, I encourage you to go back out because it is a great looking course.
Solid round
It had been 20 years since I had played Cimmerrone. The course is challenging with the abundance of water, but fair. Greens were recently over seeded. Those that has grown in were lush and true, though slow. Some were still a little sandy, but should be good in a week or so.
I’ll definitely put this into my rotation. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Enjoyable course with room for improvement
I played for the first time this past Friday. The course layout is good; challenging but still manageable for the average golfer. Fairways were in good shape after some rains or heavy irrigation. Rough could have been a little more forgiving with first cut. Greens were not consistently in great condition and needed to be cut or reworked in several places. That said, overall it was a good experience, and value for the price; put simply, I would play there again.
Putting
The greens were virtually impossible to put. Grass not cut consistently from green to green.
great course for the money in st johns
looks like all the reviews up until mine are true the course is getting better & better. It played as good as any with a greens fee of $42 give it a few more months and it will be even better.
