King and Bear Golf Course at World Golf Village
About
The King & Bear Course at World Golf Village is named for its designers, Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus. It is the first and only collaboration between the two legendary golfers. Combining the contrasting styles of the two designers created a challenging course that incorporates features from both traditional Scottish-links courses and new traditions in American golf. The course is known for the numerous lakes bordered by large coquina rock that come into play throughout. The front nine is dotted with loblolly pines while decades-old oak trees provide shade for the back nine. In addition to King & Bear, World Golf Village also offers another excellent 18-hole course, Slammer & Squire.

Golfer Reviews
Incredible course with impeccable service!
From the moment we got there, we were treated with the utmost appreciation! We hit balls at the range and were politely notified our tee time was approaching. We were told of the course, Jack and Arnie’s influence, etc. On the course, we enjoyed lush fairways and immaculate greens! Even the cart girl (Madison) was fantastic!! What an incredible opportunity to play here! Also, we stopped in the. At after and receivee amazing service from Brittany! Will definitely be back!
Great value, well kept and challenging
This course is always in great shape tee to green. Definitely some challenging tee boxes on a windy day. Great overall service. Coleman, the bartender, is a warm fellow and provides great service. A great deal is $60 and below.
Sacred Ground
The course was in perfect condition. Every hole you are reminded of where you are and who designed this gem. It was a drizzly day but nothing could dampen my feelings of excitement . In fact it took 2 holes to settle down and play good golf. If you get the chance, and can afford the price, check this one off your "bucket list ".
I was very fortunate to find this course on golf now. Beautiful experience one of the most memorable experiences on a long vacation in Saint Augustine. All of the extras free driving range, chipping area and historical golf shop made this one of the best courses I have played.
Great Course
If you are in the area...This course is a must.
Fairways were fantastic, Greens were top notch.
Greens rolled true and fast. my kind of greens
layout is a ten, there is room for your tee shots, but your eye goes to the sorrounding water or tree lines.
tight but fair
If you spray your shots, you will have to bring a couple extra sleeves of balls.
Hope you have as much fun on this this course as i did.
enjoy
We really enjoy this course. Very interesting, lots of variety and always in great shape.
great course, but not at the hall of fame location
great course, just enough water, greens are fun and fair. but don't go to the HOF location. Slammer and Squire course is there, but King and Bear is about 2 miles further into the development.
Overall enjoyable experience, greens very fast course good shape
Too dam slow!
You shouldn't crowd so many people on this course and you should keep people moving
That was fun.
I have been looking forward to playing this course for some time. The wait was worth it. The club house was great. The help was wonderful. The driving range was neat and every container had balls in it. The putting greens gave me a taste of how fast the course greens were. The fairways were great surrounded by some beautiful homes with spectacular landscaping. Unfortunately there was little roll due to the wet conditions and I count on roll with my Crummy tee shots. The tee boxes were all marked for distance and there were markers all over the fairway. The greens were in great shape and were fast. The cart path only rule was in effect due to recent seeding but even that was not a problem. It was nice to just be walking around in the fairway while waiting for the groups in front of me to finish up. The carts ran well but there was no GPS in my cart. I played from the whites and was able to squeak out a few pars and a couple of bogies. I recommend this course to any one that just loves the game and the surroundings that come with it.
Just Play It
Great course. Challenging yet fair. Excellent condition when we played only a week after Hurricane Irma. Greens a little rough, but to be expected since they just dried out enough to get mowers on the course.
I will play this course again.
Wish I lived closer-It would be my regular course
On vacation in Ponte Vedra and saw this on Golf Now Hot Deal, and what a steel it was. The staff, course etc was great. Really very fun and fair course. Got matched up with some local golfers who couldn't be more friendly and of course had great local course knowledge. If you are in the area I would recommend this course.
Most beautiful golf course in St. Augustine!!
With immaculate sand bunkers and beautiful fairways, King and the Bear is just a delightful course to play. Some of the views (holes 9 and 15) are just pure beauty and the course provides just enough challenge to keep it fun. This course is a must to play when visiting St. Augustine!!!
Beautiful layout but a little tough for the average golfer
Cart path only but course was in good shape. A little tough on the average golfer.
Great golf course, great kayout
We have played here about six times now. The ciurse is in great shape. The staff super friendly and the value is excellent.
Keep up the good work.
Great course & friendly staff
Played an early morning summertime round. Pace of play was excellent - finished in 3 hours. Would have rated the course conditions as excellent but greens had been sanded (although they rolled very true and were quick for having been sanded). Layout very interesting and there is plenty of trouble (mainly water) for wayward shots.
Staff (especially) starter was very friendly.
King and the Bear
Course was in excellent condition. Course Marshall was extremely friendly and informative. Pace of play was slow. As expected on a Saturday . I'll come back again because standards at the facility are impeccable . Plus what other course has apples at the first and tenth tee.
