Stoneybrook East Golf Course

About
Located in Central Florida, Stoneybrook East Golf Course is a championship course that has all the signatures of classic Florida golf courses. Although traditional in design there are some modern elements that lend to the overall challenge of the course. The large fairways are naturally tree-lined and the generous greens are multi-tiered and undulating. The green are also immaculately kept. Preserved wetlands and waterways create hazards that come into play on a few holes. There is also abundant wildlife on the course. Stoneybrook East Golf Course features three sets of tees.

Are there even greens?
The course is only good for wanting to hit balls. The greens were consisted of sand and patches of grass. The layout of the course (design) is nice. Once the course is brought back to life I feel it would be very playable and a nice challenge. Have played here before without disappointment.
Overpriced
I am a frequent visitor and even though the course conditions are usually not the best, it is usually good for my play level. But this last visit was very disappointing. They charged full price when there were 3 holes that its greens completely torn. Holes 11 and 12 had piles of mud around the green and 13 was out of service. They offered to play 1 and 2 holes when done with the round, but to me, charging full price for a course with all these issues is not good practice. I’ll be staying away from this course for about a month or more, until those greens are repaired.
Terrible
The course is in terrible shape THERE MIGHT BE 3 or 4 PLAYABLE GREENS AND SOME THAT CANNOT BE PLAYED DUE TO CONSTRUCTION AND NO GRASS,THEY-DID NOT-TELL ME BEFORE STARTING ABOUT THIS CONDITIONS
THE FAIRWAYS ARE VERY BARE ONMANY HOLES
Horrendous
I play here 10+ times a year. From tee to green, worst condition I’ve seen the course in 3 years. To be charging $50 plus fees right now is ridiculous. They have been overcharging for a while, but at least the course conditions have been playable.
Greens are worse than newly aerated courses, which tell you and usually drop the price. Couldn’t finish 11 because it was surrounded by workers and digging equipment, then there was a newly dug trench going through 12/3 green.
But at least they have a newly renovated club house, new karts, and new floating balls to mark the overpriced range.
Would not pay more than $30 right now and that would only be since it’s close and if I couldn’t get another early tee time
Back 9 a bit rough
I’ve played here many times, it’s a fantastic layout. The course is undergoing improvements, including new golf carts, a renovated pro shop/clubhouse, and new driving range targets. I’m very excited for the future of Stoneybrook. Currently, the back 9 is pretty rough. Several greens are in terrible shape and it seems like the irrigation system is being replaced. If these things aren’t a dealbreaker, then definitely support this course because it’s on the upswing. Also, I saw 5 deer on the 16th tee box!

Horrible Greens
Well over 50% of the greens are nearly unplayable. Congo River has nicer greens these days. Pockets of sands everywhere a lot of bare lies in the fairway. The course charges almost $70 for conditions I can play in my backyard. Will not be back.
Stay Away
Played here 5-10 times in the past few years.. unfortunately, you never know what you’re gonna get. All of the greens are really bad right now. I will say that some of them are worse than others but there are at least 5 that look like the photo below. Fairways and tee boxes in bad shape as well. Embarrassed that I paid $65 to play here this morning, would have complained/tried to get a refund inside if I had time. Hopefully they get it into better shape soon but for now stay away.
Stay Away
Just got off the course.. don’t book anything here until there are a some good reviews. Most of the greens are in unplayable conditions (see photo). Fairways and tee boxes bad as well. Embarrassed to say I paid $65 to play here. Would have went inside and complained but didn’t have time.
No improvement
Somehow it's worse than before. Tees and fairways ok but greens are un-puttable. Seems like they're in competition with Red Tail for the worse greens in the world.
Greens Bad shape
Three months ago this course was in a lot better condition. I don’t know what happened to the greens, but they are really really bad condition. I don’t know if they have a disease but extremely rough course is very wet right now should be cartpath only so you do not make tracks people still drive out in the mud. The course has remodeled the inside clubhouse looks great. I feel like they work on the greens. This place is a great place to play.
Down but not out…..
I have not played this course in several years, but played it back in the fall, and it was in great shape. Fast for six months, and the course is not in great shape, but to be fair, many of the other courses I checked were not in great shape either. We haven’t had a lot of rain so the course of very dry the greens were very uneven. What rain they did have apparently has washed out a lot of dirt and grass.
Tight track with lots of water. Bring your A game.
Carts are very nice along with the clubhouse.
Staff was very friendly
Amazing course
Take a moment and come to enjoy this amazing course !
Need Improvement
I played this course before but it's been a number of years now. When I arrived.I ask the agent in the pro shop, if the course had any issues or was under repair he "said no". Unfortunately, that was not true. The majority of the greens were patchy with holes. The back 9 whole number 11, was ripped up straight through the fairway. All other greens on the back 9 was also patchy with a lot of holes. Overall the course was in bad shape really bad shape need improvement a lot. I hope management start repair on the course. It has a lot of potential. They should also be honest about the course and its condition to give the golfer an opportunity to make their own decision whether not to play at the course. Have a good day!
Need Improvement
I played this course before but it's been a long time period. I asked a gentleman in the pro shop if there were any issues with the course , he said no. Unfortunately, that was not true. The greens were in terrible shape very patchy. On the back 9 whole number 11 It was apart (5) The entire fairway was ripped up straight through the middle and all the greens on the vack were also patchy with holes. The course was in very bad shape needs improvement a lot. I want to pass this message on to other golfers the is not in good shape at the moment. Management should be honest about the conditions and the golfer decide if he/she would like to play the course or not. I hope management start work on the course it has potential. Good Day!
Stoneybrook East GC
Stoneybrook East is a good and challenging course. The pace of play has always been good, you are always moving forward, no delays. It offers sufficient challenge with water hazards and sand traps just to make it fun, but also has wide fairways to help you keep it in the short grass.
Updates are being made on the clubhouse facilities. Hopefully that beautiful restaurant area will soon offer more services like sit down tables and full menus for lunch and dinner.
