Stoneybrook East Golf Course

About
Located in Central Florida, Stoneybrook East Golf Course is a championship course that has all the signatures of classic Florida golf courses. Although traditional in design there are some modern elements that lend to the overall challenge of the course. The large fairways are naturally tree-lined and the generous greens are multi-tiered and undulating. The green are also immaculately kept. Preserved wetlands and waterways create hazards that come into play on a few holes. There is also abundant wildlife on the course. Stoneybrook East Golf Course features three sets of tees.

Great Time For A Beginner
Had a great time during our recent 7 AM tee time. The course was nice, but had a few greens that need a little work. It would be nice to have a cart girl because it was hot as the morning went on. Overall, we had a great time.
Cool layout
I like the layout. Fairways were nice and a little tight for me but I like the challenge. Tees and greens were in really bad shape. Got stuck behind three guys playing slow and two guys playing a speed round.
No ranger to help with the speed of play. Overall I liked it and would play again, but there’s room for improvement.
Nice course but don’t play right now
I typically like Stoneybrook East, but this weekend was not the case. The back 9 was closed and I had no idea when I booked it, so we had to play the front 9 twice. The greens on the front 9 were not in very good shape. Lots of sand all over the greens and it was recently aerated. I won’t be back for awhile until they can turn things around.
Terrible condition all the way around
In 20+ years of playing I have never seen greens in worse condition. Sand everywhere on the greens, a million different grass types I fairway/rough, completely soaked/wet fairways, tee boxers sandy and weedy on every hole. Back 9 is “closed for repairs”, no water coolers on the course, no cart girl. Honestly as bad a course experience as there is in Orlando/Central FL at the moment or really they I have ever seen here. Obviously it’s fairly inexpensive, not nearly enough to play it and they are trying to get comparable rates to other similar courses in overall better shape. Honestly a total mess out there in more ways than one.
Well it’s a golf course…
It’s close and convenient and pace of play is great (cause no one’s there playing) the driving range is practically a dirt patch that you hit into water. The back 9 is closed cause they are doing a bunch of work on it. The staff are friendly and do their best to help because they understand the conditions of the course. If you’re just trying to get a quick 9 or 18 (front 9 twice) then it’s really convenient. Highlight is the carts are at least brand new
Front 9 available only
Only the front 9 was available and it also was being worked on. Love this course however a reduced rate should have been offered for the reduced venue,
Course
Greens are in bad shape
Back 9 was closed for repair
Nice Course
Course was nice. Back 9 is currently be worked on so we played the front 9 twice and the it was a good.
Hoping for best
Challenging course and great Firways. Course is under reconstruction. Greens are being refurbished . Greens are difficult to read. Looking forward to see this golf course back to live. I’m will continue to play it.
Save your money
Front 9 isn’t terrible, but still bad conditions. Get to the back 9, thought it was in a war zone the way these greens look. Par 3 on the back had a full trench dug around it. Still had to pay full price for the round though. Go to fairways CC or anywhere else for cheaper and much better conditions.
DONT PLAY AT THIS COURSE
What used to be a terrific course is now a miserable cow pasture.
The owner should be ashamed of himself.
The greens are the worst greens i’ve ever seen in my life
maintenance is being done all over the course as well, but it is an absolute pile of trash. Do not play here.
I am being open and honest
First thing first, yes it looks like they are upgrading the course new comfortable golf carts, They are great smooth ride charging ports for your phone.
Second yes the club house is open, it looks amazing.
Third driving range has been upgraded with distance markers
But Forth is the doozy one!
No signs anywhere, not on doors/windows/website etc….
The tee boxes are bad, the greens are bad, but yes they are fixing them but at the wrong time, we went to play on the 19th of June and everything is going well until the 10th hole tee boxes are bad the greens are horrible, and when got to the 11th hole it looks like caddie shack and the gopher ripped up the fairways, and then to the approach shot to the green I couldn’t hit it because of 5 workers on the green ripping up sod and laying new sod and then the next hole trenches down the side of the fairway and around the green
Not worth the $$$$
I would play it at $20/$25 the max on the situation at the moment…
There are other great courses for cheaper and 80%-90% in better conditions.
A NIGHTMARE
DO NOT PLAY THIS COURSE . I am writing this review because I want to warn anyone who is thinking about playing . The course should be shut down I played on 06/22/25 it is a DISASTER I have been playing golf for over 35 years and in my life I have NEVER played a course in this bad condition. I went into the pro shop after the round and spoke with a really nice man named Cole. He was trying to explain why the conditions were so bad and I totally understand mother nature wins everytime . I was not advised on how bad the conditions were from the tee boxes to the greens to the sand traps etc. I played this course back in April and it was in awesome shape. Don't waste your money go to Rio Pinar or Wedgefield both courses are in great shape
Decent course
Biggest issue is the greens. They need some work but the course it self is a fun and peaceful place to play. Still one of my favorite places for a twilight round.
Greens Went North for the Summer
I played this course in January. It was in great shape. Was expecting something reasonably similar adding summer into the equation. The greens were in shambles. Everything else was decent. I got a solid rate so I'm not complaining one bit. Had I paid $70 or even $50 to play, I'd be disappointed.
Dismal Day
Normally Stony Brook East provides Challenge and reasonably good conditions but this time the front nine was okay but the back nine was spectacularly bad. Between greens disease with fungus and construction of irrigation trenches and wires laying all over the place and other poorly maintained course situations the back nine was a disaster.
Overpriced
Greens in holes 11,12 and 13 are unplayable. Charging full price when there is work being done is not good practice. I’ll stay away from this course until I start seeing good reviews.
