Stoneybrook East Golf Course
About
Located in Central Florida, Stoneybrook East Golf Course is a championship course that has all the signatures of classic Florida golf courses. Golfer Reviews
Don’t do it! You’ll regret it!
This is by far the worse course I’ve played in Florida. I should have listened to other reviewers and not gone but since I’m a new golfer I figure I would enjoy it regardless. I was sooooo wrong and it cost me $50. The greens are completely destroyed and fairways are no different. This place should not be charging the exorbitant price it’s charging. This is a $20 course at best. Save your money.
Trying
Rumor has it will be refurbished soon. I hope so, geens have patchy bear spots, fairways and rough are half bermuda, half weeds. Most bunkers,do not drain well and are mostly mud. Lots of workers out there I hope they can turn things around.
Awful course management
This course if way over priced for the condition. The tee boxes were tore up. The fairways were subpar at best. The greens were literally littered with mud spots. Over all this wasn’t worth the pricey greens fees. I’ll never play here again unless the fees go down by half.
Terrible conditions
You can find sod all iver the course. Don’t even mention the greens.
The worst part is on the greens, weed, huge brown spots on every single green, most of the are almost impossible to play.
It’s a shame with such beautiful layout to had the course to go that far into those poor maintenance conditions.
Unfortunately we pulled out from our options to play
Bad condition of the greens
The course design is amazing. You will find amazing views during your cart ride. And for my 30 handicap, the course is challenging.
Things that I didn't like: almost all the greens were in bad condition. Also some fairways in the same situation. I'm not sure if this is due to the season (almost summer time) but I saw many workers taking care of the course so I expect that it will be recovered soon.
I also didn't like the fact that there is no water to drink around the course and I was playing in 90+ degrees condition.
Tough conditions
This is the 3rd of 4th time I’ve played Stoney within the last few months & im shocked to see the course like this.
The conditions of Stoney have always been great, especially the greens. I played here 3 weeks ago and then came back for a hot deal on Sunday and 16/18 greens were almost not puttable. Some of the fairways were also looking pretty tough, around the greens was tough to chip on with a lot of muddy areas.
I know a lot of our courses are experiencing some tough conditions around this time of year, but there are also plenty of courses in great condition right now.
Not sure if this is negligence or if they will be back to regular conditions in the next few weeks.
Also drives me crazy that Stoney lets out so many solo golfers with no ranger… they also don’t have a restaurant or cart girl. They have a snack bar but with it being 90 something out every day… bring your own drinks and food with a cooler
Needs some love
Played here on 6/1 and the course was in rough shape all around. Tee boxes, fairways and most greens could all use some love. I'd say still worth playing if you can get a hot deal, but full price? No way.
Needs some TLC
Unfortunately the course has declined in just a few weeks. Played 3 weeks ago and it was in good shape. Now the greens have several bare and/or rough patches.
The staff here is always nice.
