Green Valley Country Club
About
Green Valley Country Club in Clermont sprawls across rolling hills that were once used for citrus farming. The unusually undulating terrain allows for scenic vistas all around, including a panoramic view of Lake Minneola from the sixth fairway. The golf course boasts some of the highest elevations in Lake County and the routing of the layout does much to take advantage of the sloping terrain. Throughout the golf course you'll find linear fairways and large rolling greens that call for heroic carries. Water hazards come into play on a few holes but in order to let the natural contours shine, bunkering was kept to a minimum. You'll only find it along the front and sides of the greens. Green Valley Country Club's seventh is one of the toughest holes, with an intimidating peninsula green that requires an epic drive in order to reach it in regulation.

Coming back strong
So as a long time Clermont resident I have seen this course through its ups and downs. Gotta say today I saw it on a big up. Fairways and greens are looking healthy. Greens are consistent. Be honest, no one in this area likes 1 and 2 as back to back up hill 5s. But get over it and get to 4 and enjoy the views. It’s clear the staff and membership are behind making this course a challenging but enjoyable course. I’ll go back just to support their efforts. The food at the valley is unreal for the cost, the beer is cold and the staff is welcoming. Give it a shot again and club up on 1 and 2. Jg.
Work in progress
I was initially very excited to play this course. It was my go-to course about 10-12 years ago when I lived in Clermont. Time has obviously not been could to the track here. Most of the fairways have dirt clumps and if you don't hit the fairway, you are hitting in uneven weeds. The greens weren't bad, but some ran super fast and others were super slow.
It was still a fun time and wasn't terribly priced. Once my friend and I played through a slower 4-some the course was wide open so we had fun blasting drives on the wide open course. I'd come back here if I wanted to have some fun with the guys, but would not seek out playing here like I used to until conditions improve.
Seems to be Improving
I've been playing GV since the 1960s when it was nine holes. I have a vacation home nearby and used to play there every time I was in town. Unfortunately, It has declined over the last decade. Before yesterday I played in January (2022) and it was in terrible shape. I was very disappointed. However, yesterday's round showed me there are efforts to bring it back. There's still a long way to go but I see progress. Hopefully the improvements will continue and the conditions will improve.
Fun Layout
Not many elevation changes in central Florida, this course gives you some. Not just a straight course either, lots of turns, fairways a little rough on some holes, greens are great, took about 4 hours for a round.
Course has improved greatly!
You can tell the team at this course is making an effort to improve the course conditions. Friendly staff - excellent food. Overall fun place to play!
Greatly Improved!
The course looks so much better than even a couple months ago! Lots of work going on everywhere. Aeration of the fairways and tee boxes, greens are healed up after aeration and lots of newly sodded areas. Greens roll true and the staff is great!
The course is good for the price. Greens are being airated but still in decent shape. Fairways got patches every but again, it is good for the average golfer.
Green Valley
Course is in tough shape. No warning that greens had been punched. Tee boxes, bunkers and fairways need work. One of my go to courses, but, in its current condition, I cannot recommend it. Team is working on it. I will monitor their progress before I return.
Good old standby
There is a lot of repair work underway but doesn't affect play in most cases. Still fun!!
Hidden Gem!
This course has overcame many obstacles and recently underwent management changes . The staff is friendly and the members are patient with public players. This course is definitely making great changes and truly is a hidden gem!
Greens
Greens were full of worm holes. The rain had wash outs & exposed a lot of roots. Other than that it was excellent!!
Much improved
First time played in a few weeks
The conditions have improved greatly
All but 3 of the fairways were in excellent condition and the other 3 are improving
Greens were all in good condition
Should be called Brown Valley CC
This may be the worst course or should I say cow pasture I ever experienced. Normally if a course is bad I just don't say anything but I have to warn other golfers. I don't think there was a blade of grass on any tee box and fairways are nor much better.
And the layout you must bring a hard hat. You have people playing hole #1 via the 18th fairway to cut the corner then watch out for balls coming from another hole. It reminded me of a badly designed highway intersection.
Nice layout
Nice hills and valley type course, rare in Florida. Greens are in decent shape. A little thin on the fairway grass, but for $30.00 or so, I will play it again.
