Park Ridge Golf Course
About
Park Ridge Golf Course transformed what was formerly the site of the Lantana Landfill into a popular municipal course. Construction began on this unique undertaking in 2004 and the end result was certified by Audubon International as a Cooperative Sanctuary. The course climbs up to 85 feet, making it one of the highest golf courses in the county. It has a links-style layout that rolls across a variety of elevation changes, offering plenty of stunning views along the way. Such a contoured and hilly course is a rare occurrence in Florida. The golf course provides a challenge with some very tricky par 3s, several blind shots due to the rolling terrain, and strategically placed traps throughout but there are no water hazards except for one lateral hazard. There is also thick rough framing many of the holes.

Wster logged
Have to work on Drainage. Course is super water logged and basically unplayable except for greens. Course is great when dry... but last 2 outings here have been terrible.
Will Play Again!
No complaints here! Course was in really good shape from the tee boxes to the greens. The greens was aerated 12 days prior to my round and were in relatively good shape. Fairways played great and were in excellent condition. Overall was a great course, lots of fun with some interesting setups!...I’m a fan!
Unique for South Florida
It's quite rare to find a public course like this in South Florida. Many different elevations and blind shots give you the feel of a northern course, but the beautiful soft grass reminds you that you're playing in beautiful Florida. Don't let the lack of water fool you, there are still plenty of opportunities to lose balls if your shot goes astray. Just challenging enough to keep it interesting, but still able to score well on a good day. Avoid the storm grates or you might catch a whiff of the landfill, otherwise you'll be very happy with the feel of a private course with the value of a public course.
Very unique course
This course is the only one like it in South Florida has over 300 feet of elevation. The 8th green is a 80 foot drop from fairway. The course also has 6 par 3s 6par4s and 6 par 5s.
We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed yourself. The course is in fantastic shape at the moment and, as you said in your review, it is totally unique to the area in more ways than one. We hope to see you again in the near future!
Nice public course
Course is in good condition. Greens are pretty fast.
The course is challenging, with trouble on virtually every hole. In most cases it's tall grass that frames the fairway.
Okeeheelee is probably a better value- more scenic, more forgiving, and about the same or less cost.
Thank you for the four-star review and for your continued support of PBC Golf. We hope that you also get to play Osprey Point, Southwinds and take a trip to John Prince Golf Learning Center. Thanks again for spending the day with us.
Great Course
This is the only course in S. Florida with hills and the managers are doing a great job keeping the course up with all of the winter play. There is plenty of staff and they are very friendly and courteous. You will not find another course like this in South Florida.
Great day
(even though I did not play very well).
We played the 9 for 9 special.
This gem has a terrific layout, with a number of blind shots and pretty narrow fairways in spots. The greens were pretty quick and the fairways were in good shape. It was a breezy day, which certainly affected shot selection, but kept the temperature quite pleasant for August in South FL. The staff is certifiably nice; I can't wait to return.
We love to hear about people taking advantage of our $9 for 9 special on weekday afternoons. We hope you get the chance to return for another nine soon (we'll do our best to get you on the side you haven't played yet!).
Fun Day at Park Ridge
Fun course to play with vey nice greens, wide fairways, and some elevation. Shot placement is key.........
Great course for the money
Great afternoon special 9 holes $9.00 dollars and includes the cart. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Hats off to Ben. I highly recommend playing this course. Beautiful
Thanks for taking advantage of our $9 nine-hole tee time special. We're very happy to hear that you enjoyed yourself and we hope to see you again very soon.
Elevations, in Florida?
Great course! Challenging elevation changes with greens in great shape! It was an enjoyable round on a great course. Highly recommend.
We can't thank you enough for recommending Park Ridge!
Condition
Greens are a bit bumpy and the grass around the greens are not well kept. Burn patches and a few dirt patches too close to the greens. Great layout, not your typical flat Florida golf course. Very friendly staff.
Thanks for coming out to play and for taking the time to leave a review. Due to the timing of your review, we have to think you played very close to the completion of our aerification process, and for that we apologize. We very much hope that you will come back for another visit soon as the course has already healed beautifully. Until then, keep 'em in the short stuff.
Humidity was brutal, but that's S. FL in July. Course was fun to play but it was nice to have one of the regulars along due to a large number of tee shots being blind due to the hills. Greens were in good shape and the speed was very consistent over the whole course. Very unusual course for S. FL in regard to all the hills and varying elevations.. Watch out for the rough because it is.
Thanks for coming out to play. Our elevation changes really are unique for the area and with all of the rain lately, the rough really is ... well, rough. Good tip on avoiding it. Hope to see you for another round in the near future.
Great value
The only course, locally, where there are hills. Makes the course different and interesting.
You hit the nail on the head. Since we are built on a retired landfill, there are a number of holes that feature elevation changes of up to 40 ft., which is truly unique for this area. Thanks for the review and we hope to see you again soon.
Not your typical Florida course
I've played Park Ridge a few times and always find it a challenge. The elevations are not typical of Florida, and even the par 3's present a challenge with uphill blind shots and extreme descending greens.
Thank you for the review. We are built on a retired landfill and that provides the unique elevation changes you mentioned... Number 11 and 14 are straight down the hill while 16 goes right back up it. Thanks again and we hope to see you again.
