Park Ridge Golf Course
About
Park Ridge Golf Course transformed what was formerly the site of the Lantana Landfill into a popular municipal course. Construction began on this unique undertaking in 2004 and the end result was certified by Audubon International as a Cooperative Sanctuary. The course climbs up to 85 feet, making it one of the highest golf courses in the county. It has a links-style layout that rolls across a variety of elevation changes, offering plenty of stunning views along the way. Such a contoured and hilly course is a rare occurrence in Florida. The golf course provides a challenge with some very tricky par 3s, several blind shots due to the rolling terrain, and strategically placed traps throughout but there are no water hazards except for one lateral hazard. There is also thick rough framing many of the holes.

ball marks
lots of ballmarks on greens. I got tired of repairing 2 plus my own mark. dried ballmarks are a pain to put over!
Not a Dump!
Park Ridge is a diamond in the rough. Even though built on a dump, the golf course has a beautiful view and great elevations that is not like most Florida golf courses. There is a great value for what you get. Also the course is kept in great shape. The greens run true and a pleasure to putt on.
I have returned with my friends several times and I belong to a private club but they rather go here.
Scott,
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts on Park Ridge with others. Have you checked out any of the other Palm Beach County courses (pbcgolf.com)? You may not need that membership for much longer. Thanks again for coming out!
Always a challenge
Tough but fair. Keep it in the fairway and you're home free. Some tough tee shots if you play from gold or black (long carries). Greens weren't very fast but rolled very well.
Thank you for the four-star review! While the carry is quite long, the black tee box on the par-5 12th hole may be the best view on the entire property. The greens will do nothing but speed up as we get into the winter months. See you soon!
Great Course - Rude Staff
Great course! Cart path only that day though. Probably the rudest staff I have come across. From the bag drop guy scolding me because I didn't stop 20ft further back to the guy that literally raised his voice at me because I mistakenly returned the cart to the cart barn instead of up front. Finally, at the cart return the guy began cleaning up me and my wife's clubs and when I mentioned I was running short of cash he acted insulted and dropped what he was doing.
Hello James. We are very sorry to hear that you didn't fully enjoy your experience at Park Ridge Golf Course. We'd like to hear more about your time with us and ask that you email us at golf@pbcgov.com with your name, the day you played and a phone number for us to contact you. We look forward to speaking with you soon.
Poor Drainage, course should have been closed
The course was in terrible condition due to poor drainage. The course should not have been open because of the muddy conditions. we came home a muddy mess and impossible to hit the ball from certain areas.
We apologize that Mother Nature didn't cooperate for us. We hope that you don't encounter these conditions at Park Ridge moving forward as we just completed a drainage project. We hope that you will come see us again soon as drier weather is on the way.
Good course but just a wet day/course
I've played the course 4 times before and enjoyed it. Challenges you for course management. The course was wet when we started and then rained so we had to quit after 10 holes. From previous rounds it was the same experience on the holes but just different club selection. The slope for the course if great and the greens are well developed and makes your read to put to the hole. A different experience depending on the weather conditions but the fairways, the times that I have played, have been sopt but the greens have held their own. Give it a try....fun place just remodeled and great staff !!!
Thank you so much for your continued support. It truly does play as a different golf course each round. As for the wet fairways, we completed a large drainage project this summer but Irma and heavy rains in October have made the course play a bit wet. Thankfully drier weather is on the horizon!
We appreciate the five-star review!
The Best Layout
Played here for the first time today and I was thoroughly impressed. If it weren't for the heat I would have thought I wasn't in Florida. This course had some of the best holes I've played in Florida and the course was challenging but fair. Only complaint I had was the greens were rolling slow but that's because it seemed they hadn't cut them since the hurricane, the rest of the conditions were excellent for a course built on a former dump. Staff was great and price was excellent. Highly recommend playing here.
We're so glad you were impressed by our "out of Florida experience." We have had some trouble getting power back to one of our water pump stations after the storm so in an attempt to keep the greens healthy, they were kept a tad bit long for a few days. We can assure you that next time you play, the greens will be much faster and will make your day that much more enjoyable. Thanks for taking the trip up from Ft. Lauderdale.
Greens under maint.
This is a great place to play
They are working on drainage and grenade both are much improved
We recently completed a large drainage project and it is making a HUGE difference. The course is in the best shape it has been in a long, long time.
Horrible
Played course before. They should have said the course was aerated or something. Clumps of grass all over course. Ball did not roll
Ruts and grass clippings all over course. Only played nine Terrible.
When we mentioned to pro shop we got 'sorry".
I’m sorry you did not find the course in acceptable condition. Park Ridge was aerified on July 24th and 25th and we felt the course had recovered extremely well and it was not necessary to notify golfers of the past aerification. A refund or raincheck should have been issued to you when you came into the golf shop and I would be happy to offer this to you if you will contact me directly. Please send an email to golf@pbcgov.org.
swell
great condition, friendly and courteous staff, well stocked snack bar, well laid out. only thing would have liked to have seen a ranger out on the course
Thanks for the five-star review! We have rangers on the course seven days a week and we very much apologize if you did not see one during your round.
Pace of Play
This is the second time I have played this course in a 5 week span. They do not have Rangers on course to keep play moving. Very LARGE gaps between groups. First round was 4 hours 45 min and not very busy. Second round was 4 hours on the dot, not very busy. We asked 2 groups to play through, neither was very happy but it would have easily been 5 hours plus on course if we didn't.
We very much appreciate you playing two rounds with us. In the summer months, play can be a bit sporadic because of the heat, which does lead to some gaps between groups. Having said that, we always have rangers on the course and they do their very best to keep play moving along. Thanks again for playing and we hope to see you again soon.
A Lot of Blind Shots
If you're accustomed to playing golf in Florida, this course is a complete anomaly. There are many elevation changes and a lot of blind approach shots that are required. This is a great course if you're looking for a change of pace from the normally flat courses you find throughout Florida.
Thanks for the four-star review. Having been built on an old landfill, we are defiantly the most unique layout in South Florida. Thanks for coming out!
Misleading
I tend to play here from time to time , I reserved a tee time today because I saw other courses on this site showed a warning sign that the greens were being punched , which did not show up for this course on GolfNow , So I arrive and pay, at discounted price to my surprise because I found out after I paid the greens were punched , so I'm like ok whatever I'll play anyway , the when we finish 9 and head to 10 we are told the back 9 was closed and we had to play the front 9 again. If we had know we would have played somewhere else , and when I mentioned it to someone the response was " thats why u only paid $14 . They need to let players know about the course being half closed before they pay!
We very much apologize if the course conditions were not properly displayed on the GolfNow website. We always alert all tee time services and golfers when we are doing maintenance. Sorry if you felt mislead, that was not our intention at all. The greens are in great shape now, c'mon back for another round!
Wow
What a great course this is. Pleasantly surprised on how well the course layout was ,unfortunately a lot of players or a lot of "golfers" think that they can play this course it's not made for everyone. That's why the pace of play was rated the way it was a little slow about five hours to finish but all in all everything it was wonderful great elevation change everything was challenging.
And what a great review this is. Thanks so much for coming to play and for leaving a review.
We appreciate the feedback and have made this a focal point. We do our best, but have asked our staff to be on the lookout and we've added new cart signs asking golfers to repair their ball marks. Because, hey, no one wants to putt on the moon... We have already seen a drastic improvement and the greens are rolling great.
