Park Ridge Golf Course
About
Park Ridge Golf Course transformed what was formerly the site of the Lantana Landfill into a popular municipal course. Construction began on this unique undertaking in 2004 and the end result was certified by Audubon International as a Cooperative Sanctuary. The course climbs up to 85 feet, making it one of the highest golf courses in the county. It has a links-style layout that rolls across a variety of elevation changes, offering plenty of stunning views along the way. Such a contoured and hilly course is a rare occurrence in Florida. The golf course provides a challenge with some very tricky par 3s, several blind shots due to the rolling terrain, and strategically placed traps throughout but there are no water hazards except for one lateral hazard. There is also thick rough framing many of the holes.

Like No Other
This course was absolutely gorgeous. The fairways greens, everything was in amazing shape. Appreciate the lightning detector which slowed the round by about 30 minutes, but better safe than sorry!. The staff is always friendly, and the course is just breathtaking. Elevation like no other place in South Florida!
Always a Unique Experience
Always enjoy this course for a change of pace and a different layout than we see on all the other courses here. After all the rain, rough was thick and made it hard to find and advance ball. Considering all the rain, it was in very good shape.
We have received a tremendous amount of rain over the past month and are thrilled to hear you found the course to be in great shape. Last summer we completed a large drainage project and reviews like this help us know that our hard work is paying off. We hope to see you again soon.
Fun at a course under repair
Could only play the front nine. Even these greens were being aerated. Had to stay on cart path. Still had a great time.
We appreciate you coming out and taking advantage of our aerification rates. With all the rain we have received, the greens have healed nicely and are back to their normal selves. C'mon back soon!
Great Place
Played 5 holes before the lightning and rain and the sirens ended play. Four pars and one bogey... first time breaking twenty. Still waiting to hear from GolfNow on your newest rain out policy
Big congrats on breaking twenty! Joking aside, we hope you are able to return to experience the rest of our course when a bit drier weather finally arrives. We appreciate the five-star review.
Nice place to have fun
The course was really fun to play, on the back nine I hooked up with two great women. The tips made you focus off the tee and added distance to the course, which increased the players fun factor.
It's definitely not a short golf course when played all the way back, but it sure does add to the elevation changes on holes like 11 and 12. We very much appreciate you giving us five stars!
TAKE OUT THE HILLS AND IT STINKS
No character to this course. Its like a house with an awesome kitchen but crummy layout. The course has revelation, which is NOT seen in South Florida - but the layout is not good. Been to this course about 3 times and doubt I would go back. Elevation is "cool", but novelty wears off quickly.
The course was in horrible shape. Tee boxes are in bad shape. Lots of crabgrass and divots. Fairways were in good shape. Greens were not cut and also had crabgrass.
Would rather go to Atlantic National / Lacuna right down the street from this course.
We're very sorry that you feel that way about our layout. We can honestly say, that is not something we hear very often as our layout is one of the most unique - and enjoyed - layouts in the area. We're made up of six par 3s, six par 4s and six par 5s combined with elevation changes that are unmatched in the area. We appreciate you coming to play and for taking the time to fill out a review.
Enjoyed the day
This course will certainly test your golfing ability. It was fun and a must play for you to test your skills. I will be back in the future.
Thanks for taking the trip up from Delray! we're glad you enjoyed yourself and hope to see you again soon.
Greens a little slow
Different layout than most Florida golf courses. Greens on the slow side would play again
Thanks for checking us out! Judging off the date of your review, we'd have to guess you played just after the first real rains of 2018 which is why the greens were a bit slower than normal. Come on back next week and they will once again be back to their normal speed. See you soon!
Great adventure
Course good, short on staffing. Carry your own bag, stand in line while staff ignore you to do paperwork, give the starter your receipt and he makes me go get my own cart, load it, and then go back to him to give him cart number. Not the best start.
The round was much better.
Ann, we really appreciate your honesty. We have addressed this review with our staff in an effort to make this the last time you, or anyone else, has a similar experience. We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your round and can't thank you enough for the four-star review. Having said that, we'd love for you to give us another chance so we can earn that fifth star. Until then... keep 'em in the short stuff.
Short, old timer course
Right in the middle of Lake Worth retirement communities. The only thing unique about the course is that it has elevation. I live in Delray and would not go back. Plenty of better courses within the 30 minute drive.
Hi Mark, thanks for the review. We're afraid you've got the wrong course, though. Park Ridge doesn't have a single home on the property and measures 6,700 from the back tees. Come check us out!
Great experience!
Change of pace for a South Florida course! Nice elevation changes. Conditions of course were excellent.
We may just be the most unique course in South Florida because of our elevation changes and we do our best to keep the excellent course conditions you encountered all year long. See you again soon.
Reliable Ridge
I took a good friend of mine to hit the links at Park Ridge today and all he could say during the round was how cool it was to play on a South Florida track with such an unusual layout on a former landfill. There were elevation changes from tee box to tee box, blind shots and tricky, tight holes that demanded careful shot selection. While the fairways and tee boxes were a bit chewed up - as is the case with most area courses this time of year - the greens were in fine shape, thanks to ball marks being expertly maintained. Unsurprisingly, Park Ridge was packed on a Saturday morning, but pace of play was excellent. What elevates this 11 year-old course built by Palm Beach County to a five- star rating was predictably first-rate service from bag attendants, pro shop, and starter to snack bar server and cart girl, who zoomed around the hilly 18 holes like no one I have seen at any other track this winter.
WOW. We can't thank you enough for this amazing review. Thank you for the continued support and for sharing your story publicly.
Golfing on garbage
Vary windy day on top of garbage
Lots fo blind shots
Not vary Floridan
Won’t go back
We are indeed built on top of a retired landfill, but we can very much assure you that there is no garbage anywhere on the golf course -- and the course is in great shape! Unfortunately, we can't control the wind... but we would invite you to return for another round as the golf course is very fun and unique for the South Florida area.
Unique layout for South Florida
I always enjoy playing Parkridge. Great layout with nice greens. You will see holes which are unusual for South Florida. The only negative was the unfriendly/abrasive clerk in the pro shop . In spite of him I would still recommend playing the course.
Hello,
We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review and are thrilled to have received a five-star rating. Having said that, we ask that you please send us an email at PBCGolf@pbcgov.org so we can learn a little bit more about your check-in process so we can work with our staff to deliver the best experience possible. Thanks!
We can't thank you enough for coming out to play and for the five-star review. We're glad that you were able to finish your round after the short lightning delay, but, as you said, better safe than sorry! We hope to see you for another round soon.
