Park Ridge Golf Course
About
Park Ridge Golf Course transformed what was formerly the site of the Lantana Landfill into a popular municipal course. Construction began on this unique undertaking in 2004 and the end result was certified by Audubon International as a Cooperative Sanctuary. The course climbs up to 85 feet, making it one of the highest golf courses in the county. It has a links-style layout that rolls across a variety of elevation changes, offering plenty of stunning views along the way. Such a contoured and hilly course is a rare occurrence in Florida. The golf course provides a challenge with some very tricky par 3s, several blind shots due to the rolling terrain, and strategically placed traps throughout but there are no water hazards except for one lateral hazard. There is also thick rough framing many of the holes.

Course
Course was excellent. Great fairways and greens. First time players are in for a surprise on some holes, (blind) shots.
Very rude staff!!!
I've been to this course several times and once had been treated very poorly by a staff member that didn't want to help explain or help at all, seemed like I was just pestering him because I asked a question but I let it go. But today my group showed to the starter about just 5 minutes late of our tee time and was completely mistreated by a staff member helping the starter. He cursed at us, threw a fit and was completely disrespectful. He continued to raise his voice and then further pursue us at the first hole claiming we hadn't paid and give our ticket to the starter which we did. Just an awful experience and will never recommend to any persons i know or golf with in the future.
Dean, we are very sorry to hear about your experience. We do our absolute best to provide top-level customer service to every guest that comes to play. Please shoot us a note at golf@pbcgov.org as we'd like to hear a little more about your time with us. We appreciate you coming to play.
Challenging track
Always make a point to play here when we are down for the season. Nice layout and wind is always a factor.
We very much appreciate your continued support!
Challenge but fair
I am a single digit handicapper and played from the back tees- this was a challenge with the wind with long par 5's and long, blind par 3's. The greens were unexpectedly good considering the price. The greens are firm but fair. If there is any criticism it would be the blind par 3's. In my opinions, if you are playing a par 3 that's more than 215 yards, you should at least be able to see the green when teeing off to speed up play on errant shots. I would definitely play here again for the price I paid.
Hi Jason. We're glad the putting surfaces exceeded your expectations. The par-3 9th hole which you are referring to is usually played one box up in order to give everyone a look at the green. Thanks again for coming out and we hope to see you again soon.
Interesting
The course it self could have been layed out a lot better. The front 9 almost all the holes are straight and run right next to each other. If you hit an errant shot you have the chance of hitting someone playing another hole. The greens where slow bumpy and relatively flat which was a disappointment because there are a lot of elevation changes everywhere else.
Thanks for the review! Our layout is a little "interesting," as you put it. We were built on top of an old landfill and we used just about every inch of the property that we could. We hope to see you again.
A pleasant surprise!
Was looking for a quick 9 hole round and saw this course on-line through GN. Reviews were OK so we gave it a try as the price was certainly more than reasonable. What a pleasant surprise! I was dreading a slow 9 on a public course and we pretty much shot through in 2 hours. The course, which is built on a landfill, has some nice elevation changes (unusual for Florida) has some interesting holes which use the terrain available. The tee box options were good for both advanced golfers as well as fine for women who might need shorter length holes. The course is in good shape although once off the fairway, there were quite a bit of weeds to contend with. While the greens were a little bumpy (hey, what do you expect from a public course at the end of a busy day?), the speed was fine and reads were reasonable.
They are building a new club house (which looks like it will be done fairly soon) so now the pro-shop and restrooms are in temporary facilities that are a bit "rustic". Once the new clubhouse opens, this will be a real gem of a public course. We'll definitely return - great value on a very solid course.
We very much appreciate you picking us for your emergency nine and we're thrilled to hear how much you enjoyed yourself. The new clubhouse is up and running and we recently completed a drainage project, so you'll have to come back out soon so we can try to turn that four-star rating into five.
Thank you for your review of Park Ridge Golf Course. Please come see us again soon.
Elavation changes in Florida??
Played this course from the black tees. Can only see about three of the pins from the tee box. Two par threes that were 240 yrds. with NO visual on green.
Not in green shape. Had to roll in the fairway and sand on every green. Interesting layout... But needs some TLC.
Note: They are building a new clubhouse....
Thank you for your review of Park Ridge Golf Course. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed our elevation changes and the "out of Florida" experience at our course. Please come see us again soon.
Great course
Felt like u were in another state because of the varied elevations. Really good lies and slower greens when we played in March. Carts were arthritic gas models. Staff was the friendliest ever experienced. Fairways were wide and well seeded. T boxes were mostly level.
Thank you for your review of Park Ridge. We are happy to hear you enjoyed the course and had such a friendly interaction with our staff. Please come see us the next time you are in South Florida.
A course up to anyones skills
The greens need some help. A little slow from last time.
Thank you for your review of Park Ridge. We hope you will come see us again soon.

Worth the drive.
Very nice course. Lots of elevation changes and good length. Very enjoyable. Currently building a new club house which will improve the amenities.
Thank you for your review of Park Ridge. We hope to have the club house open in the next month and hope that you will come see us again.

This is a Great Course
I was looking for a course that didn't meander tightly between condominiums and streets and I found the perfect course here. It was a glorious day and there was a nice breeze compliments of our relatively high position atop the landfill. Oh, don't worry about the setting, they have done a superb job of creating a beautiful golf course on land that would otherwise be useless and you never even sense it was once a landfill!! The people were as friendly as it gets. Thanks and we'll be back soon.
Thank you for your review of Park Ridge. We are happy to hear you enjoyed the course so much. We certainly enjoy the fact that we aren't surrounded by houses on the course. Please come see us again soon.
jrhwick
Had a great time with family for wife birthday. A little slow on back nine, couple greens need rolled but the weather we had, attitude of staff, no complaints by other golfers enjoying the day, who could ask for anything better. Will be much better when 19th hole is finished. Will certainly be back.
Thank you for your review of Park Ridge. Its great to hear that it was an enjoyable birthday round of golf. Please come visit us again soon.
Not your average Florida course
I walked the course in the past but on a weekend I would not recommend walking. There are multiple tees so although I put moderate it can be as challenging as you like. Many elevation changes which is unusual for Florida. Well kept & good greens. It seems like they may be under construction as far as the clubhouse. Good practice area and apart from the substitute starter all staff were friendly and responsive.
Thank you for your review of Park Ridge. We are happy to know you found the course so interesting and hope you will return again soon.
Challenging course, average conditions
This track is quite fun, lots of par 3s and 5s, many elevation changes, and semi-blind shots off the tee and approaching the green. Great value for money.
The course is in okay shape. Greens were good quality and ran true, rest of course was average.
Would definitely recommend for a fun, fast, reasonable round.
Thank you for your review of Park Ridge. We feature six par 3s, six par 4s and six par 5s, which definitely makes for an interesting round. We hope you will come see us again when you return to Florida.
Not your typical Florida course
Built on an artificial hill (former trash dump) it's not your typical flat Florida course. Lots of elevations, water in only one and spectacular hole. It's very windy and open, so it has a linksy feel.
Interesting lay out, the protection is the many natural areas. Too many too blind shots. The first round is a guessing game, and the guess isn't always correct. It could use some signaling for the right direction. Large greens, not to drastically undulated. Most of them in very good conditions.
The back nine has the most spectacular views. 13-14-15 have the most visually attractive holes with big downhill and over natural areas and Barrancas shots, with the par 5 14 playing bordering de single large lake in the course.
16 is unfair as you have a too long tee shot from before the tips, againts the prevailing wind, over a natural area hazard Wich, unless perfectly hit, will eat you ball and there is nowhere to bail out nor a drop zone. So you have to bend the rules to get to the fairway, after loosing a couple of balls.
The biggest problem is that the course has no drainage, so a little bit of rain turns it in a Mudd bath, car path only. Guess what, it rains in Florida throughout the year. Summer must be messy.
Walking is allowed and it's a nice walk that will put your hearth and knees to work. My knee is still complaining, I'm not.
Facilities are too roustic. Proshop and restrooms are mobile trailers. The only bar is a trailer with no seats or shadows. Only one restroom in the course and one other shelter with a sign indicating that it's not a lighting shelter. Being The only elevated land around, I don't want to be there on a lighting storm. There are too many in FL.
Construction is ongoing for clubhouse and proshop.
Thank you for your review of Park Ridge. We are happy to hear that you found the facility to be so picturesque. We are working diligently to finish our golf shop and restaurant remodel and should have the new one open in the next couple of months. We know this will provide more accommodations for our golfers, before, after and during their rounds of play, and appreciate your patience as we go through the process. We hope to see you again soon.
Very different from any other Florida course
They constantly improve this course and keep it in great shape. Love having 3 par 3's on each 9 holes. Love the variety of holes. If your bored of most flat Florida courses, you'll love the hills and height of these holes and find it challenging.
Thank you for your review of Park Ridge. We are happy to hear that you have noticed the work we have undertaken to improve the facility. Rest assured that we are continuously working to make Park Ridge one of the finest golfing experiences around. Please come see us again soon.
Blind shots
For the 1st time playing this course I thought it was difficult. A lot of blind shots teeing off and approach shots to greens. The 8th hole needs to be told about in club house or starter should tell you about its dropoff.
Thank you for your review of Park Ridge. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the course and found it challenging. Park Ridge definitely offers a different golfing experience than what one will normally find in South Florida and we have found that golfers love our elevations changes. Please come see us again soon.
Thanks so much for the five-star review! We are defiantly the most unique layout in South Florida.
