Park Ridge Golf Course
About
Park Ridge Golf Course transformed what was formerly the site of the Lantana Landfill into a popular municipal course. Construction began on this unique undertaking in 2004 and the end result was certified by Audubon International as a Cooperative Sanctuary. The course climbs up to 85 feet, making it one of the highest golf courses in the county. It has a links-style layout that rolls across a variety of elevation changes, offering plenty of stunning views along the way. Such a contoured and hilly course is a rare occurrence in Florida. The golf course provides a challenge with some very tricky par 3s, several blind shots due to the rolling terrain, and strategically placed traps throughout but there are no water hazards except for one lateral hazard. There is also thick rough framing many of the holes.

Nice course
A somewhat challenging course with a lot of elevation changes, played it in about 3,5 hours and found it very fun especially when the wind picked up and made it even more difficult.
Not worth $59
Esthetics are not very nice. The smell of methane gas from some vents were unbearable. Greens were recently top dressed and we were not told prior to paying. I think $59 on GolfNow was over priced for this course. I would not pay more than $30 to play this.
golfready
Interesting track with some challenging holes. Fairways, greens and bunkers need better maintenance. Conditions are not as good as other municipal/county courses in lower Palm Beach County.
Good Course
I would like to recommend this golf course to all golfers. It it challenging but not too difficult. The scenery is beautiful
Great Course, but, disappointing experience
I love this course. However, on this occasion, I used Golfnow and due to this, I was not allowed out any earlier than my tee time, even though the first tee box had been empty for over 40 minutes, which is why my round went so quickly. We did not have anyone in front of us until the 18th hole. Management said that they only allow golfnow reservations to go out exactly at that time. Because the weather was rainy and was supposed to get worse as the day progressed, we showed up 30 minutes for our tee time but had to sit and wait until 12:42 before they would allow us out. I will not book with golfnow again due to this situation, which is a shame. As a business owner myself, I would never treat our customers the way I was treated.
The course is fun and challenging
Course was in good shape a few pin placement were tuff but overall a good place to play.
Here's a clue
A friend and I played on Veteran's Day. Got paired up with 2 guys that had never played the course before. At 1st they were going to play the tips and we laughed. This is a difficult course to begin with, and it was busy being Vets Day, along with being very windy.
They chose the 2nd set of tees - gold. Here's the clue - if you've never played a course before, and it's busy, don't choose a difficult set of tees. They were splaying balls everywhere, and not as good as they think they are.
We were walking off the 2nd hole and the ranger stopped us and said you've played two holes and you are already a hole behind. We told him to speak to the awesome duo we were paired up with. It was an okay day but would have been more enjoyable if this twosome had been reasonable in their choice.
Not your usual Flordia golf course
This is not your typical Fl..golf course, it has elevation & plays too fairways going up & then down. It should be noted that prior to being a golf course this tract of land was a landfill. The starter seemed to be a little overwhelmed with his duties & didn't do the best job of staging players. Other than that I would recommend this course for an interesting golf experience.
Great course for a great price!
We played as a twosome in a little over 3 hours! It was windy, cloudy, and not crowded. Fun time.
Very Nice
I Will Come back this week ! Great Price ! Good challenge ! Only the smell sometimes is discusting
Park Ridge
Solid course, occasionally smell landfill gases. Good greens, well maintained , very nice staff. Elevation changes very rare in south Florida
Do not play here
The course layout is solid but condition is average. No one fixes divots and unfortunately the course does their best to overfill the course. My group left after hole 12 as the round had already reached 4 hours. I have played here a few times before and to date have NEVER played in under 4:45. There was no ranger to speed up play and that was the last time I will ever go back.
Always enjoy this interesting track
Interesting up and down golf holes in South Florida. Well conditioned course but was very wet the day we played after huge showers night before. If you off the fairway you can easily lose your ball in high grass areas. Many blind shots that you need to aim at tall poles in the fairway marketing 250, 200 and 150 yard markers. Some greens are wife open and landing anywhere is fine. Some interesting green complexes requires you pay attention.
Stop cramming players into the golf carts.
I booked around for a single play. For some reason the starter at the course told me to wait because four players just went out, that he will get me out soon. So okay, I understand you don't want people playing on top of each other, it slows down the pace. 15 minute later the starter calls me over to give me the keys to the cart, cool. To my eyes, not only he send four people out before me, he sent three others behind me. So we had eight players at the first tee in three separate parties.
I don't know what kind of system they have worked out at Park Ridge, but for my first time playing at that course, this episode didn't make any logical sense. Whether it was a lack of golf carts that were available (doubtful since it off season at 1:30 in the afternoon). I would suggest sending the first party, let them clear the first tee, then send out the next party. If you have a super large party, put them in the back of the line, not the single players.
A MUST PLAY
This is one of the best public courses in South Florida. The price is great. The hills are wonderful and the view is amazing. Staff is always great, respectful and goes out of the way to make you feel welcome. I will continue to drive up from Pembroke Pines to play here.
playing the hills
it was so much fun, hills in Florida, reminded me of the challenge of playing up north, a lot more interesting that these flat Florida courses!
had different elevations for a fl. course
disappointed in the slow pace of play for 2 o'clock, during the Florida summer. greens were ok, but the fairways had many bare spots. course is unique for Florida as it has many different elevations .
A fun and different course
The course is challenging and fun with hills and valleys and blind greens. The staff is always friendly and helpful.
