The Plantation Golf Club - Otter Creek Course
About
The Plantation at Leesburg offers two championship courses, the Cranes Roost Course and the Otter Creek Course. The Otter Creek Course features an interesting layout that is wide open on the front nine, while the back nine is rife with towering trees. Situated on hilly terrain, the golf course features gently rolling fairways and the medium-sized greens have some slight undulations. As its name suggests, a creek flows through the golf course and comes into play on several holes throughout. The semi-private Plantation at Leesburg provides two excellent golf courses, but they also feature a practice facility and staff of golf professionals to help players of all skill levels.

Did not play
The app provided tee times, allowed me to book them on same day even though the course was closed and then would not allow me to cancel. Fraud. Theft.
Bad surprise
I booked the round for two players on golf Now and checked into the course. got my cart key and score card. After playing 9 hole, we traveled the long distance to the 10th hole only to see a sign that the back 9 was closed! I verified this by calling the Pro shop and asking why I wasn't told this at check in. they said Sorry but you can play the front 9 again. The back 9 on this course is the reason we chose this course and were very disappointed that it was closed and especially that we were never informed of this. The remainder of the course, the front 9, was in fair condition but could use some water on the greens and a fair amount of TLC throughout
Back 9 closed!
I was never informed, either when I booked the round or at check in, thst the back 9 was closed! Only after driving the considerable distance from 9 green to 10 tee did I see the sign that read "Back 9 closed". The front 9 could use some work to water the greens and maintain the fairways. Not a happy golf day!
Great Layout, But....
This is a tough track and could be an outstanding course but the condition were fair to poor. There has been a ton of rain in central Florida, which I thought would help the course transition from summer to fall but I was wrong. The greens were terrible and the rough was a weed infested mess. I'd wait to play to allow further maintenance on the course. I did love the layout and hopefully they can restore this course- I'll go back then but will pass till they address the greens and tee boxes.
Price drew me in, won’t play again.
Low cost tee time over a holiday weekend grabbed us. Course just isn’t maintained. Dead areas all over the fairways and greens. More brown than green, and swampy. Staff was friendly. Don’t go if you want to play serious golf. Only play for low cost casual round.
Almost There
I have played Otter Creek several times in the past year and the continual improvement on the course is phenomenal. The greens are almost near perfect and the fairways and Tee boxes are seeing improvement. I gave this course a 5 star because everything else is exactly what you should expect from a golf course and the hard work the staff and crew have put forth trying to get this course back to where it should be.
Horrid Conditions
This course has defiantly seen better days, The site said they were doing routine maintinence but it was far from routine, the tee boxes were a dirt mound and the fairways were a mixture of dead diseased grass weeds and dirt.
The New Otter Creek
This course was destroyed just a little over 1-1/2 years ago by a shady at best management company. I quit playing here for well over a year. My first time back and I was absolutely amazed at the changes in the course. The greens were good to very good and some of the really difficult areas of the course were made more playable for the average golfer. The fairways that were once dirt are now full of grass and the wet spots have had drainage tile added to them.
I always loved this scenic course and am now very happy it's back to the shape it was many years ago. I can't thank the staff enough. GREAT DAY GOLFING
Getting Better by the day…
This course is really coming back. A bit more time needed but a huge improvement from last year.
A massive effort is being made.. I’ll be back..
WHAT HAPPEN TO OTTER CREEK AND CRANES ROAST AT PLANTATION
FIRST TIME IN 3 YEARS PLAYING HERE TODAY NO EVEN WORTH 4@). COURSE BAD SHAPE MOST GREENS BAD SHAPE FAIRWAYS HARD DRY REMINDED ME OF FOX HOLE IN NAM, USE TO BE FANTASTIC, NOT SURE WHO RUNNING EITHER COURSE NEED TON OF WORK. PLAYED IT MANT TIMES IN THE PAST GREAT LAY OUT 2 OR 3 YEARS AGO. NEEDS TON OF WORK TO BRING IT BACK TO NEAR PAR. HAD $20 DEAL GOLFGROUPER NOT SURE IF THEY CHECKED IT OUT FIRST BEFORE OFFER. AT LEAST 72 AND SUN THATS ABOUT THE BEST I CAN SAY. ALSO PAYED$2.80 FOR TAX. HOPEFULLY THEY WILL PAY ME TO COME BACK. HAPPY NEW YEAR
2 putt greens
The greens are in bad shape due to aeration. Hopefully, they will make a big difference later in the summer. Right now the greens are 2 putt and on to the next hole.
Greens are gone
The greens are gone no grass literally gone your putting on dirt many of the fairway are grass free also. A total waste of $41.00 the sister course Crain's Roost is closed because of the condition The Plantation should be too
Bad time of year
All the greens have been aeriated and need some time to recover. Course layout and pricing are always good reasons to play.
Otter Creek
the greens were in the worst condition I have ever seen. a trip to the driving range would have been better.. although they were just punched and sanded they were not put table and the cups hadn’t been changed in a few days. I think a notification of the condition of the course before the tee was made would have been good.
Otter Creek unplayable
Golf now put the song of the creek which was unplayable due to it being Holland time. The staff however kindly put us on the other calls. Which was good. We cannot review Otter Creek.
