Trump National Doral Miami - Golden Palm Course
About
The Golden Palm Course (formerly known as Gold Course) is one of five 18-hole courses at the Trump National Doral Miami. The courses offer a variety of golfing options to accommodate players of any skill level. The Golden Palm Course has a traditional Floridian layout that features subtly contoured greens and narrow fairways that are lined with trees. There is also strategic bunkering throughout as well as water hazards that come into play on 16 of the 18 holes. The golf course has a notable finishing hole that has an island green. In addition to the five courses, Trump National Doral Miami is also home to a noted golf school.

Blue Monster 1st tee Photo submitted by u000008216192 on 01/15/2017
Water, water, water
Played as a single and paired with threesome. It was almost as if we had the course to ourselves. Two singles played through, then not another player seen. The cart girl does not come around often, so stock up when she's there. There is a lot of water on this course, but it's manageable. The greens were true and lightning fast! Not much rough to speak of and the fairways were in great shape.
Terrible layout
The course itself was in great shape with a few minor wet spots. The greens ran smoothly and were fast. It is very challenging as the greens fell off on all sides.
The problem with the course is that there is a tremendous amount of cart traffic. There are several other courses that share the same cart path as the Gold course, so on many holes, especially on the front, there ar carts coming at you during your shot or crossing around you or coming up from behind. It was all distracting and slowed up play considerably. After three holes the group agreed not to play the course in the future as a result of the cart traffic. It was especially disappointing when you consider the price of between $125-$220 per round.
Played Silver course. Great condition. Very fast greens. Well worth the experience. Thx
Fantastic Course
Easily one of the best courses in S. Florida. Excellently maintained, great pace, and a challenging course. Staff was very professional and friendly.
Only negative - you have to pay $20+ for parking.
Meticulously maintained
We picked up this tee time on a hot deal. Soon as we arrive we were greeting by friendly staff and an awesome resort. Very nice place. We played the Gold course. I would definitely recommend this place.
Loved it...
Had birdies, pars, bogeys and everything else possible. Teed off first one out in the morning. The staff is super friendly and attentive. The greens are fast but manageable. I highly recommend going to the practice area to get a feeling for the speed. On the card, I played with the flag in the No. 1 position. On putts shorter than 5 feet ended up under reading the break. On putts from 6-25 feet out ended up over reading the break...it is far more straight than it looked.
The back 9 are more difficult than the front 9. Wind played a big factor. Use the GPS, some holes visually look deceiving in distance. If you fall short of the green or your ball rolls off, at least for me, I found it better to use the putter.
Lots of sand, straight forward getting out of it. Although in one hole I was there for so long I think I got my tan just there alone. Loved the 18th island green. It really is not difficult at all, it just seems that way.
Overall, loved the facilities, the course, the staff, the setting and everything else. Definitely have to get in early and enjoy the facilities and stay later and keep enjoying them.
As good as the Blue Monster..
Great track, challenging throughout. I went out as a single on a day without much play, so the pace of play was awesome...can't say it is always like that. Bobby the starter set me up and gave me some good advice. It's a par 71 (36/35) and I had more trouble on the back then the front thanks to hole 10 and 18...both aren't that difficult...but they can be challenging! I played from the Blues 6002 yards (69.9 / 133)...had 8 pars..so I guess I could have played from the Gold which is only 322 yards more then the Blues...the course played true and was a lot of fun. I played the Silver Fox on another day and had to go back and play the 18th on the Golden Palm on my way back in to the clubhouse. I got a good deal on Golf Now and the price was worth it, doubt I would pay full rack rate very often....but it is a fun course.
Gorgeous course friendly staff! Best I've played!
This was the best course I have played! Challenging but fair, water and beautiful holes up and down the course. The layout was awesome! Definetly pay the $20 for valet it makes it much easier than trying to park and pay anyways plus they take car of your clubs before and after for you. Golfed the regular $250 course for $99 and people I played with stayed at the hotel and still paid $150. Awesome deal!
One of the best courses in Miami
As an advanced golfer, this course required deliberate shots as we had huge wind all day long. Add that strategically placed bunkers and water hazards and the risk/reward factor came into play quite frequently.
Excited to play the other courses, the entire property was first class! A must play!
Trump National Doral
Unbelievable service from the moment you drive up to the moment you leave
Best golf course I've played
Already booked my next round here on Friday April 14th
Bringing my wife this time
A special thanks to the wonderful staff
Should have known this place was class act just like the Trump family
Great course, plenty of challenges
I gave this a poor value rating based on the list price. At the golfnow price, it was a 5 star rating for the value. Course was in great condition. Layout was great. Very nice practice facilities. The resort itself is fairly large - so it comes with some of the hassle of that, but not a big deal.
A few holes approached being gimmicky in terms of the combination of green design and water, but that could also be a function of just playing it for the first time. After some experience you'd get to know where to hit / not to hit.
I played when it was very windy - if you don't bring your A-game on this course when the wind is blowing, watch out (and bring extra balls)!
