Trump National Doral Miami - Golden Palm Course
About
The Golden Palm Course (formerly known as Gold Course) is one of five 18-hole courses at the Trump National Doral Miami. The courses offer a variety of golfing options to accommodate players of any skill level. The Golden Palm Course has a traditional Floridian layout that features subtly contoured greens and narrow fairways that are lined with trees. There is also strategic bunkering throughout as well as water hazards that come into play on 16 of the 18 holes. The golf course has a notable finishing hole that has an island green. In addition to the five courses, Trump National Doral Miami is also home to a noted golf school.

Perfect day after a week of wet weather
I played a few courses this week and after a prior week of really rainy weather, The Golden Palm Course showed no signs of what many other courses suffered after a lot of rain. I played this course alone in 2HRs and 40 mins and paced myself with 2 groups of 2 a few holes ahead by taking extra mid-iron and chip shots to the green from time to time. ( Yes , even on a few stray Drives)
I liked the course. It was my far the easiest of all the courses I played this week as it is pretty wide open, but a few of the greens have some daunting sloping sides that only end with a wet & lost ball in the water. Worth playing if you can strike a Golfnow special. The staff was okay. Nothing over-the-top. If you are a last minute person and don't have time to warm up beforehand, you will still need to get there 20 minutes ahead of your Tee-time as you have to check in at the entrance gate, park and take a shuttle to the club house , etc. Bring tip money for the RT shuttle and club cleaning service. NOTE: You will pay somewhere between $12 to $20 to self-park !!! Based on how long you parked. I will play here again and its fun to play a wide open , well groomed course that does throw in a few challenges and spectacular views .
Greens are FAST. Not what I am used to, so 3-putting greens happened a lot more than normal. I 3-putted all PAR 3's on account I hit them off the tee-box and could not be any farther away from the cup. Go Figure.
Great experience!
Very challenging course, especially on a windy day. Fairways are wide enough not to get in trouble, except when the water comes in to play. If you can get on the green doesn't keen your ball will stay on it. Challenging greens, often ondulated. Loft to play this course! Would play again, especially when I can get a Hot deal again.
Course in great shape.
Everything about the course was great. However, the golf carts geofencing needs to be corrected, at least the one I had. It shut down automatically when it wasn’t supposed to.
Loud and expensive
Planes and highways make for a noisy round. Conditions very good NOT GREAT. For a premium dollar I expected a little better manicured. Course very playable probably should have played gold tees at my handicap. $20 to park car is ridiculous. I was glad I experienced it once but at $200 I will never again. Under $100 likely.
Course is awesome!!!
Not a bad hole on the course and three or four are really spectacular! Conditioning is great and if you can find a hot deal here, it represents a phenomenal value.
Impeccable conditions
This course lives up to the brand. The fairways are gorgeous, the greens are pristine and slick, the course is in beautiful shape. What a pleasure to play. A very challenging course especially with the wind makes a golfer think the shots through. if a golfer is looking for a test of skill and an amazing golf course this is the perfect combination.
Outstanding
All I can say is wow. Doral itself is like Disneyworld for golf and luxury. I was blown away the entire time. The staff were exceptional and the course and facilities were excellent. I signed up to play the Red Tiger and got paired in a foursome. The starter said the Red was backed up and it would take 6 hours to finish and since the Gold course was empty we decided to play that. It was definitely harder than the Red, the fairways are really tight but very playable if you can make good shots. The greens were very tough, you had to make almost perfect approach shots to even sniff a birdie. The layout was great, tons of water and very scenic. Most of it was away from residential areas too so it felt more secluded than the other courses. I would come back and play this course everyday if I could!
Perfect
incrdible first experience, worth every penny. TRUMP
Water, water, water
Played as a single and paired with threesome. It was almost as if we had the course to ourselves. Two singles played through, then not another player seen. The cart girl does not come around often, so stock up when she's there. There is a lot of water on this course, but it's manageable. The greens were true and lightning fast! Not much rough to speak of and the fairways were in great shape.
Terrible layout
The course itself was in great shape with a few minor wet spots. The greens ran smoothly and were fast. It is very challenging as the greens fell off on all sides.
The problem with the course is that there is a tremendous amount of cart traffic. There are several other courses that share the same cart path as the Gold course, so on many holes, especially on the front, there ar carts coming at you during your shot or crossing around you or coming up from behind. It was all distracting and slowed up play considerably. After three holes the group agreed not to play the course in the future as a result of the cart traffic. It was especially disappointing when you consider the price of between $125-$220 per round.
