Ruff condition ,,Bad Weather,, If you guys have played other course in the area, then I don't see the how you can rate this course any more then 2 STARS,,,Give $10 More And Play Hidden brook After 3:00 Or Blue Rock,,

4th time playing mare island, and each time has been different and enjoyable. weather was great in comparison to other courses in this area at this time of year, wind did pick up while on the back nine but not un-manageable. the course was a challenge each time, play could have been faster, but this made the surrounding views more enjoyable. snack bar service was slow, between the front nine and back nine i lost my group becuase of the amount of time to get their food. limited range warm up.

A challenging course, makes a golfer really think on what club to use and where to land the ball.

A nice average round of golf with good value. But tee boxes need work, no marshalls on course to maintain pace of play. No water problems greens were above average after plugging a few weeks ago. Some cart paths are quite rutty and rough. Some holes are just pristine, like numbers 3,13,14.

fun course- short and extremely up and down. Amazing views, greens were excellent, fairways decent, tee boxes getting worked on.....

A bit of a drive but a challenging and fun course none the less. Would definitely go back

bring lots ball if you are a beginner. hole number 9 is not short as it looks.

First time playing and enjoyed it. The course is a bit dry and ragged but the greens were perfect and the views awesome. It was quite windy but that's to be expected given it's location on the bay. Just driving on to the island was worth the trip. So much history.

If you haven't played it, do it. Friendly staff, really good food and a fun course to play.

If you like to play at a good pace, this course is not for you. Good views and cheap prices but that's it.

If you like playing on fairways that are as sparse with grass as the Mojave desert and greens that are bumpy as a kid with chicken pox then this is the place to go. I have played here many times and have not seen these conditions before. I will not come back until I am assured that conditions have improved dramatically.

Nine of these holes were built well before 1900, and the newer ones blend in nicely. This is a classic short track with a diabolical combination: wind and severe elevation changes. The views of San Pablo Bay and the Sacramento River are breath-taking. I wouldn't play it every day, but I'd be robbing myself if I didn't play it twice a year. Great dollar value.

The practice range is irons & hybrids only. The snack bar should be open earlier than 7am for the early bird golfers.

The course is drying out. Some brown spots. The sand is hard slightly below the surface. I've played on this course when it was in much better shape.

Front 9 is a "traditional" styled course. Back 9 are "links" style. It's nice to have two different courses within 18 holes. Some of the tee boxes needed some maintenance and overhanging limbs on the Blue Tee Hole #11 needed to be cut back. Greens were fast when damp in the early morning, but, slowed down as they dried out near noontime. Overall a good course for the money.

The course is much hillier than expected. Also, very much affected by the wind. The course is not long, but is very challenging do to elevation changes and very windy conditions. Only 1 par 5, and 3 par 3s. The par 3s are some of the most challenging holes on the course.

This course is awesome if you are looking for a challenge . But if you hit off shots hold on it could be a long day lol great course

Have played course many times. Many elevation changes, greens have false fronts that punish you for being short on approach shots, when the wind is blowing course plays much longer. Beautiful views on the back nine make the day enjoyable. Course will challenge skills of all golfers

Driving range is ok. Maybe 200yrds? Can't hit driver but I should be practicing my short game anyway. I go go early to beat the crowds if they come. Front nine (walkable) old school tree lined military course. Back nine added some years back with crazy views and fun tee shots . Lots of hills to keep you interested (cart preferred). I think mare is a hidden gem with excellent value.

This is a nice course with beautiful views.it was my first at this course it was quite challenging for me.
