About
Lonnie Poole Golf Course at N.C. State University was designed by Arnold Palmer with the help of N.C. State graduates Erik Larsen and Brandon Johnson. It's home to the university's men's and women's golf teams but it's open to the public as well. It's a favorite among locals who claim it's one of the toughest golf courses in the Triangle. The course sprawls across more than 200 acres on the southernmost portion of Centennial Campus, a location that is easily accessible from I-40 and offers scenic views of the Raleigh skyline. The greens can be difficult to read and they are often framed by rough
areas and strategically placed bunkers that make them even trickier. It's an especially tough golf course to play on windy days. Lonnie Poole G.C. is a beast from the black tees but the shorter tees make it accessible for high handicappers.

Great Course
Little pricey but the course is in excellent shape. I’m sure since it’s a college course there are no beer carts but that would have been nice. Still was a great time.

Great track - wrong day apparently
Great layout and conditions couldn't have been better. The clubhouse crew got rentals for me since we had just moved to the area. Rentals were much nicer than I was expecting - bag of Srixons! My only constructive criticisms - lack of water when we played (may have updated that for the summer) and pace of play. We must have gotten stuck behind every bad golfer in the county that day and I'm sure our 5+ hour round on a Wednesday around 10:30 is far from normal. If you get the chance to play here - do it!

Great course
Looked amazing for August. Looks like it's spring on the course with perfect grass. Bunkers are so soft. They really punish. Im pretty good and it took me two to get out of one of them. Tee boxes look good. Pace was amazing. No food/drink cart. Nice restrooms.on the course.

Very Nice Design
The greens were slow and the had recently been punched but that information was not listed or shared before the reservations were made
