Lonnie Poole Golf Course at North Carolina State University

This course is the best in the triangle for public play. I play the course a few time a week. Pace of play is terrific during the week this time of year, sub 3:30 rounds any given time.

Staff is awesome. They treat people how they would want to be treated.

Greens are rolling about an 11-12 right now with the cooler temps and being bent grass.

Best layout in Raleigh, greens very fast and fun today.

Another than one or two holes course if good for all levels of play. Starters very efficient

If you play from the correct tees, the course is a blast to play. Fairways are generous, approach shots challenging, sand traps brutual!!!! Greens were rolling true and not too quick.....they would be even better if others would repair ball marks. Our group fixed 6-8 ball marks on every green!!!!

LP reminds me of a mountain course. It’s definitely challenging and has plenty of undulation. I didn’t play from the tips, but my friends that played college golf tell me it’s a struggle from back there. Overall I love the course and the staff is great.

Greens fast and firm and there are always those 8 round defining shots you have to hit. Always a treat. Wish the course was closer to my house.

Always a fantastic experience playing st Lonnie Poole. The staff is always accommodating and the course was in great shape. I would highly recommend the course to both the high handicapper and the scratch golfer.

Bent grass greens have survived the summer heat. They rolled true, not too quick. Rough was not overly penal but got your attention. Fun layout if you play from the correct tees. Was thrilled that we played in 4 hrs on the nose.....sometimes pace can be brutal.....esp. on weekends.

AWESOME golf course. Always in great shape. Pace of play is always good. One of my favorites.

Played for the 1st time and it did not disappoint. Played Duke & UNC Finley over the same weekend and Lonnie Poole was in the best condition. Duke & UNC Finley are also great layouts but Lonnie's greens were in better shape than Duke & UNC Finely. Stay out of the bunkers! Fairways in great shape and the greens were running at a good pace. Will definitely be back

Course is not for me to hard.

GPS on the cart is virtually useless.

The golf path is in front of your tee, and you can't back up to get a good distance, and the exit area from the fairway is + 100 yards before get to the green.

Also at the price you pay you would think the water in the coolers would be cold!

I will not go back!

I was really surprised that the coolers around the course were empty at 3:30 on a weekend afternoon. There was no drink cart roaming around on a holiday weekend. The snack bar was not manned so you have to go in to the restaurant. The attendant there will leave the restaurant and run into the snack bar and get your requests to bring back...on a holiday weekend. For $80+ a round, the facilities and amenities need to be adequate if not excellent.

The greens. They’re so slow.

And lastly, the starters are either not where they’re supposed to be, don’t have a tee sheet that is updated or just don’t have any idea what to do. It is almost every time I’m there. It’s comical.

Well-rounded course with solid conditions. Higher number of tee boxes let’s you adjust difficultly based on your skill level. Course was great during this round, greens rolled well and true. Maintenance is typically great at this course. Pace of play was right at 4 hours. Only cons were the cart continuously flashing “5min behind” pace as well as rangers coming by multiple times to stop and talk even though we had no one directly behind us. I’d suggest getting out to play if you are in the area.
