About
Lonnie Poole Golf Course at N.C. State University was designed by Arnold Palmer with the help of N.C. State graduates Erik Larsen and Brandon Johnson. It's home to the university's men's and women's golf teams but it's open to the public as well. It's a favorite among locals who claim it's one of the toughest golf courses in the Triangle. The course sprawls across more than 200 acres on the southernmost portion of Centennial Campus, a location that is easily accessible from I-40 and offers scenic views of the Raleigh skyline. The greens can be difficult to read and they are often framed by rough
areas and strategically placed bunkers that make them even trickier. It's an especially tough golf course to play on windy days. Lonnie Poole G.C. is a beast from the black tees but the shorter tees make it accessible for high handicappers.

Tough
Very tough course but fun. Great scenery of North Carolina

Raining Sunday, so not many people there. Great course to play at self-paced speed.

Don’t Pay Twilight Rate
Course is great! Didn’t see a Marshall on the course. If I had, maybe players would have repaired their ball marks (I repaired several that were not mine). And if there would have been a Marshall, maybe a group of slow players would not have cut in ahead of us on the back nine causing us not to be able to finish our round. Twilight rate is too high for not being able to finish.

Pace is worse than ever
Played there dozens of times - pace of play is terrible. Never seen a ranger there and the beeping from the GPS does nothing.
Very disappointing - for an amazing course and great kids working the pro shop, but zero help for players. Several quit @ 15th green and just walked up to the parking lot.
