With an excellent location surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains to one side and overlooking Georgia's Great Lake on the other, Lanier Islands Legacy Golf Course provides the perfect setting for a round of golf. The diverse, rolling landscape ranges from dense forest to open meadows to pristine beaches. Water has a strong presence throughout the golf course, coming into play on 12 holes. Many of them play right along the lake's shoreline. At 6,580 yards, the course is not particularly long but it is still a formidable challenge for long hitters since it requires quite a few demanding carries over the water. One of the most memorable holes for this reason is the par-4 12th, which presents an interesting risk-reward opportunity if you dare to cut the corner.

Beautiful but Too Much Target Golf

Course was just beautiful. My complaint was that except for the last two holes and the par threes, it was difficult to determine where to hit the ball off the tee. Did not use my driver until #17. If you like target golf, this course is for you. It would help if you had played here more than once, but still too much guessing for my taste. Fairways were a bit thin as well, but I am used to playing on zoysia with bent grass greens.

The best golf course views in North Georgia!

Our round was perfect from start to finish. The course is in fantastic condition and the greens were rolling excellent. We played in just over 3 hours! We always feel welcome here and the staff treat us like family. This is a must-play for any golfer with so many holes on Lake Lanier. Stunning!

This was my second time playing here. What an amazing course! If you want to top tier golf experience, come to Lanier Islands Legacy GC. The staff was everywhere and always helpful. The all you can eat lunch was amazing. The 4th Hole is my favorite!

Wonderful course

The course is in the best shape of any in north atlanta/Georgia right now. Greens are looking great, fairways are coming in nicely and they have put a lot of work into the course and tee boxes to make it look even better. The layout is fair but tough and the back nine is just challenging. Would highly recommend!
