About
Edgewater Golf Club has a peaceful setting tucked away in Lancaster. The course feels completely secluded with a layout that tumbles across rolling hills covered with a blanket of matures trees. The terrain is as scenic as it is challenging, providing the layout with dramatic elevation changes and plenty of water. In addition to the natural hazards, there are numerous strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. An abundance of wildlife also calls the golf course home, so don't be surprised if you see deer or turkeys roaming the course. One of Edgewater Golf Club's most memorable holes is the par-4 seventh. This tricky hole is a downhill dogleg left that forces you to drive right-center of the fairway, followed by a tough approach to a green that sits on the bank above Fishing Lake Creek.

Played in between rains,
Course was in good shape, greens were fast although it rained in the morning. Good round of golf.

Needs Water
The layout was very nice with the mature tree lined fairways. The sand traps needed more rakes. Even the large traps had only one rake. The tees and greens were nice and soft. The tees and fairways could have used a bit more water, as they were beginning to turn yellow and brown in some areas.

First Time Playing Course
I have heard about this course for several year and thought I would give it a try. Overall experience was good but here is why I won’t give it 5 stars
Booked for 2, and it started off with me and another player. As we tee off they put another 2 players with us. Great guys. Decent players. There was a group of 4 in front of us and group behind us. After hole 3 we did not see either group. It was as if we had the course to ourselves.
After hope 7 the ranger stopped us and said we had to pick up pace and that the group in front of us was 2 holes ahead. I acknowledged him and told him that the two players that joined us were slow but I would try to get them to pick up pace.
At the turn, 2 holes later the ranger approached me again and no right up the group ahead of us was 2 holes ahead. At that point I was angry. I explained to the ranger that there was nobody behind us pushing us at all and we had not seen the group and I did not understand why he was pushing us. He said then that he was going to talk to the group behind us. Again, we were not pushing anyone and nobody was waiting on us and I expressed that once again to the ranger.
I am a member of a local course and never once have o been told I play slow. This ranger in my opinion has no concept of what slow play is asking us to pick it up when there was literally no one behind us for 2-3 holes.
For this reason alone I most likely won’t be back.
Decent course. Greens has a ton of divots and some not repaired.
Glad I played it but there are others I will try before going back.

Nice layout
Course is a little on the tight side with side sloping fairways. Greens hold well and roll smooth though a little slow with the summer temps. If you are a longer hitter you will want to play the golds or tips. Overall a nice experience and great course for the money..

Great layout and friendly staff but what happened to the conditions!
This is our local course and we play twice a month here but are currently rethinking after our round on 7/31/23. The course conditions have gone down. The greens were in rough shape, soft, full of ball marks, center of fairway were fine but the edges and transitions to cart paths were rough. It is such a great layout so I hope they can make the necessary repairs and get this beautiful course back to top top shape.

No green thumb apparently
This course used to be in pristine shape. Really fun layout. As an avid golfer and working in the golf industry it was sad to see the course conditions. I mean, I get some spots here and there but I’m spraying dirt instead of divots. What happened?!!!! Greens look terrible. Staff was great. Whoever is in charge of investing money into maintaining this course has really done a lack luster job. Had a great round last season but, now it’s verging on a goat track. I hope they pull it together.

Good track
Fairways in good shape. Greens need some minor repairs from players not repairing approach shots. Well worth the drive from Charlotte.
