About
Laurel Hill Golf Club has some of the best conditions of any public course in the area, which is why it is popular amongst the locals. It is hard to believe that the club sits where the DC Department of Corrections facility at Lorton used to be located. The layout has a traditional design, but unlike older golf courses it runs a lengthy 7,102 yards from the back tees. The greens are lightning fast and undulating. There is defined contouring throughout the course, which allows for some interesting holes. Although the fairways are wide open they are still punishing towards errant shots. There are dramatic elevation changes throughout the golf course, making a flat lie nearly impossible to find. The course provides a formidable test for even the most seasoned players.

Good for late season
Greens still a challenge. Just fertilized so I assume they’ll get slower into NIt velvet. The new sprinkler install is ongoing but only a slight nuisance. Still has some of the best tee shot panoramic Jews in NOVA. Play it if you haven’t.

My Favorite Course
Laurel Hill is such a great course: big, long, wide fairways with strategic trouble and fantastic greens. Normally in great shape, this time was no exception. The greens were immaculate. The layout is both fun and challenging; a lot of doglegs and elevation changes to make it interesting and challenging to play. Driving range included is a nice perk. Course personnel (pro shop and starters are pleasant and helpful. Everything made for a great golfing experience.

Laurel Hill Saturday Round
Overall, course is very challenging layout especially form back tee boxes. Greens were very fast and challenging. My one compliant is the course needs to put some money into fixing up the condition of the tee boxes which were in rough shape. Check in staff by carts could be a bit more friendly and helpful as well to newcomers.

Tough Track
Tough but fair and well worth playing. This course gets a lot of play and apparently not many golfers like fixing divots, besides that the tee boxes need a little TLC 👍

Beautiful Course in Suburban NOVA
Beautiful and well maintained golf course. It is largely hidden from view of the surrounding housing and is very challenging. Good value if playing off peak hours
